One thing Disney is famous for is its villains. They’ve come in all shapes, sizes, motivations, and songs. For many of us, the bad guy song was one of the best songs in the whole movie, and we always loved to see our favorite baddies have their turn in the spotlight. After all, you can’t have a good hero without having a good villain too.

I’m not sure which Disney villain is my favorite. I do like Dr. Facilier’s style and atmosphere, and Hades was always very entertaining to watch. And who could forget Maleficent’s incredible power? I think I love all the Disney villains for different reasons. I liked that Frollo was a realistic villain that was incredibly chilling, I liked that Scar was a master manipulator with one of the best villain songs, and I liked that Ursula was this flamboyant witch who never really hid that she was double-crossing Ariel. They’re all great villains in their own way and they all bring something to Disney’s bad side.

Many fans have shown their love of Disney villains by creating their own fanart of them. And part of that is playing around with the villains’ gender. It’s always interesting to see what a villain would be like if they were a little different. And messing around with the gender helps artists see how they would need to change that villains’ body to look more feminine or masculine.

So here are 20 Disney villains that have been reimagined as girls. Think we missed some good villains? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below!

20 She’s The Pirate Queen

I feel like Captain Hook is one of those villains that tried super hard to be intimidating but ultimately failed because he’s terrified of a certain crocodile. (To be fair, crocodiles are pretty freaky; they’re like land sharks.) But Hook does have his moments where he comes across as pretty intimidating and cold-hearted. He shot one of his own crewmembers because he was annoying him, he tried to blow Peter up, he made Wendy walk the plank, and he nearly drowned Tiger Lily. This guy has quite the rap sheet for a man who dissolves into a blubbering mess whenever he hears a clock.

I really like these female versions of Hook. She looks pretty tough but also surprisingly approachable. I could see female Hook being this intimidating character but she could also be rather close to her crewmembers. These versions of her do make her look pretty intriguing, like someone you’d like to get to know better. That’s probably how she gets you, though. It would be cool to see her going on these crazy adventures with her fellow pirates. You can bet that they highly respect her, though that may be because they’re slightly terrified of her. You do not want to mess with this pirate lady.

19 Are You Ready For This Witch Doctor?

I think Dr. Facilier is a bit of an underrated villain (probably because he came from a film that didn’t do super well in the box office). While I think the guy could’ve been developed a little better, he still has the presence and atmosphere that a classic Disney villain needs. He’s disarming and charismatic, yet very threatening and powerful. This is a guy that would trick you into selling your soul and delight in taking it with all the drama when the time came. He’s that mystic witch doctor that you probably should stay away from but can’t help but be intrigued by.

This lady is dripping with atmosphere, mystery, and power.

And Lady Dr. Facilier looks pretty amazing. I like seeing her both in her more approachable outfit and also in her witch doctor look. Either way, you can tell this lady is dripping with atmosphere, mystery, and power. It would be interesting to see how a female Dr. Facilier would interact with Tiana and Naveen. Considering Naveen was quite the flirt and playboy, I could see her playing up her flirty side to get Naveen to trust her. Just like her male counterpart, this Dr. Facilier would stop at nothing to get what she wants. Watch out, New Orleans!

18 Keep This Lady Out Of Your Head

I don’t think anybody was ready for Gravity Falls when it came to Disney Channel. I’m still in shock that this show was greenlit by Disney since it’s pretty different from what Disney Channel would usually do. (And it could get dark really fast.) But I’m so glad this show got the chance to shine because it’s amazing, with gorgeous animation, an interesting plot, and incredibly well-developed characters. And one of these particularly memorable characters is Bill Cipher, the main antagonist in the 2nd season. This is a villain that shouldn’t be all that intimidating, given his simplistic design, but he proves to be pretty terrifying. Plus, this guy will make you laugh hysterically at his dark humor.

This version of Bill Cipher is the lady human version of him, but considering it would be kind of hard to make a female version of an animated triangle, I think we’ll count it. I love these artists’ renditions because while they are human, they still very much feel like Bill Cipher. You know that a female human Bill would totally dress all fancy and sophisticated, but still be sassy and sarcastic. I also like how she has the eye-patch, referencing the fact that Bill is a one-eyed demon.

17 The God Of Demise Is Looking Great!

The fact that the Disney version of Hades sounds and acts more like a smooth-talking car salesman with an anger problem than the Greek God of Demise is kind of hilarious. It’s even stranger when we consider that the Greek version of Hades was actually a pretty chill guy who just wanted to be left in peace half the time. (Zeus was usually the one causing all the trouble.) But Disney’s Hades is a very entertaining villain with just enough intimidating power to make you think twice about crossing him. This guy did almost take over Mount Olympus. And his design is pretty awesome.

A female Hades looks just stunning. I could see her being the goddess that is fabulous all the time and doesn’t care what other people think. She owns the demise-look and these artists’ versions of her look absolutely perfect. Plus, I love the idea of a female Hades taking Cerebus out for a walk; that would totally be her. I’m not sure how a female Hades would interact with Meg and Hercules. I could see her flirting with Hercules to distract him from her intentions. Maybe she’d flirt with Meg too. Either way, female Hades would be a goddess you wouldn’t want to mess with. She’ll take you down and look flawless while doing it.

16 No One Looks This Good While On The Hunt Like Gaston

What’s rather interesting about Gaston is that in any other classic fairy tale story, he’d be considered the good guy. He’s the super strong man who’s going to save this village from a monstrous beast that lives in an old abandoned castle. All the girls love him and all the men want to be like him. So, the fact that he’s actually the bad guy in Beauty and the Beast is just wonderful. It shows how someone like that could turn out to be a rather cruel and intolerant person. Not to mention the fact that Gaston is incredibly narcissistic and selfish. It’s all about him and if he doesn’t get his way, things are going to get bad.

A female Gaston is an interesting concept mostly because Gaston is kind of the epitome of toxic masculinity. Maybe a female Gaston would be a representative of toxic femininity? Hard to say. But I do like these artists’ interpretation of a lady Gaston. I could see lady Gaston being this very beautiful woman who also is rather powerful. She still has this arrogant air of getting what she wants no matter what because she feels she deserves it. I certainly wouldn’t want to fight her.

15 Don’t Cross This Hun

I think Shan Yu wins all the points for being the villain with the most intimidating presence and demeanor, but not getting much development. While he’s not a very complex villain, he’s definitely a terrifying one. This is a guy who’s bent on taking over China and won’t stop at anything to do it. Shan Yu does have a pretty high body count since he was responsible for destroying who knows how many villages and General Li’s army. And he almost ends the Emperor, Shang, and Mulan. Not to mention that he survived being buried in an actual avalanche. This guy is unstoppable and he will destroy you.

And I love the designs for a female Shan Yu. She looks amazing but still incredibly powerful and frightening. Though I’m pretty sure a female Shan Yu would wrap her chest before going into battle; it’s a lot more practical that way. It would’ve been really interesting if Shan Yu was a female, mostly because that probably could’ve happened (Huns were fine with having female soldiers and generals.) And it would be really cool to see female Shan Yu go up against Mulan; talk about an amazing fight sequence. We could all use a little more girl power!

14 This Lady Of The Cloth Will Destroy You

Out of all of the Disney villains, I’d say one of most unnerving and coldhearted would have to be Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. This guy is a racist, violent creep who believes that he’s so much purer than everyone else in this city. Can you say delusional? And let’s not forget that when he discovers he has a thing for Esmeralda, his solution is to find her and either destroy her or make her his. It’s seriously disturbing. Not to mention he’s taught Quasimodo his whole life that he’s a monster and that he should hate himself for it. Oh, and there’s the whole wanting to commit a mass-ending thing. Yeah, Frollo is someone you love to hate because he’s just that despicable. But he’s also realistic enough to make you pretty uncomfortable.

Female Frollo wouldn’t be all that concerned about her outward appearance.

I never really pictured what Frollo would be like as a woman, but these artists definitely do a good job. It’s true she would still keep her simple black robes and basic haircut. Female Frollo wouldn’t be all that concerned about her outward appearance. But I also like that these artists still included the menace and cold cruelty in her eyes. I think female Frollo would be just as horrible as her male counterpart and she would still dedicate herself to destroying the gypsies.

13 Her Betrayal Stung The Worst

I think Hans shocked everyone when it was revealed that he was the true villain. I don’t think any of us saw it coming; he just seemed so nice, and it’s unheard of for Disney to make a prince evil. (I’m also suspicious of bad writing, but that’s a conversation for another day.) But we have to admire his skillful manipulation and acting abilities because this guy is really good at making himself seem good. He takes the term “two-faced” to a whole new level. But leaving Anna to perish and trying to end Elsa? That’s pretty low, man.

And a female Hans would be terrifying. I could see her playing the part of the kind, innocent princess who just wants to help, but is actually manipulating everything so she’s in control. I like this artist’s version because it captures that iconic moment when we realized Hans’ true nature. She still looks very poised and perfect, but there’s that undercurrent of darkness running through her, and we’re seeing it for the first time. It’s a shock, it’s disturbing, and it’s a bit heart-wrenching. And a female Hans would deliver that line with just as much coldness and devastation as male Hans.

12 You Ain’t Never Had A Villain Like Her

Man, if the Sultan in Aladdin never had any slightest misgivings about Jafar, he must have been incredibly oblivious. Jafar is a guy that’s just dripping with menace and deceit. Although, even Jasmine trusts him a bit initially, so I don’t know what’s going on there. This guy must be super charismatic (though his creepy mind control staff probably helps things). But with his magic and his manipulation, Jafar is a pretty powerful guy and only gets more powerful when he gains control of the Genie. This is definitely one grand Vizier you don’t want to mess with.

I like the two different versions of female Jafar because they show the different directions she could go with style. She could be this sultry pin-up type of villain, or she could be more conservative but still intimidating. Either way, she looks pretty amazing. This lady Grand Vizier will destroy you all while looking stunning. It would be interesting if the Sultan’s Grand Vizier was a woman. I don’t know if her manipulation tactics would stay the same or she would change them up. But I do know female Jafar would still jump at the chance to take over Agrabah and possibly the world.

11 Be Prepared For This Lady

If you think about it, Scar is a bit underwhelming as a villain when it comes to sheer power or intimidation. The guy doesn’t have a lot going for him in the strength department. But when it comes to cunning and manipulation, this lion shines. The fact that he ended his own brother and ordered his own nephew be destroyed also demonstrates Scar’s utter lack of caring and compassion. He was going to stop at nothing to become the King of the Lions, even if that meant eliminating his own family.

Female Scar would be just as calculating and manipulative as her male counterpart.

So, what would a female Scar look like? Well, a female human Scar, according to these artists looks rather beautiful and dangerous. I love how both artists captured the intensity of Scar’s eyes in these pictures. Female Scar would be just as calculating and manipulative as her male counterpart, though I could see her being even more vicious when it comes to fighting. If you think an angry Scar is scary, just imagine an angry female Scar; that would be terrifying. I also like how the first picture shows this human version of Scar to still look pretty wild and feral. You definitely wouldn’t want to run into her on a dark night (or any time for that matter).

10 Mine, Mine, Mine

When I was a kid and going through the phase where I wanted to watch Pocahontas all the time, I knew that Governor Ratcliffe was quite the jerk. But I don’t think it clicked in my head just how much of a racist jerk this guy was until I was older. I mean, listen to that song he sings about the Native Americans: “They’re only good when [deceased], they’re vermin as I’ve said, and worse!” Yeesh, dude, I’m going to need to you reign in your supremacy attitude there a bit (or a lot). What’s scary is this type of guy is pretty realistic. There are still people out there who think like this, and that’s what really freaks me out.

I’ll be honest, the idea of a female Governor Ratcliffe makes me a little uncomfortable. I’m not sure why; it just weirds me out. But this artist did do a good job of making the female version look pretty nice. She’s definitely got that pin-up look going on. I also like that her dog Percy is just sitting there all dignified. It looks like she posing for a painting or something. It would be interesting if Governor Ratcliffe was a woman, though I’m just she’d be just as racist and intolerant.

9 All She Wants Is World Domination

Out of all the villains that Kim Possible fights, Drakken is probably the most consistent one and the one we see the most often. He’s kind of the epitome of that incompetent villain that has big plans to take over the world, but he never succeeds. And his methods for world domination get progressively more complex and bizarre. While this guy isn’t exactly an idiot (he does build some pretty impressive stuff), he’s not the best at planning ahead. And he tends to overlook big details that end up being the end of him. Really, if it wasn’t for Shego, Drakken probably wouldn’t be much of a threat.

I like how both of artists of these pictures decided to not go the sultry route with a female Drakken. I don’t think a female Drakken would really be into that stuff, so she probably would still wear that blue coat. It would be cool to see Kim go up against a female Drakken, especially since this show didn’t have a ton of female villains (I wonder what that was all about). I bet female Drakken would still have a deep voice. Or maybe I just can’t imagine Drakken having a higher voice; it seems unnatural.

8 She’s Got No Strings

Stromboli was a pretty disturbing character in Pinocchio if you think about it (though the whole movie has a lot of disturbing elements). This guy decided to lock up Pinocchio all because the kid wanted to go home and Stromboli didn’t want to lose his top star. I mean, he could’ve just convinced the kid to stay or something, but no, his first thought was to lock up Pinocchio in a cage. That’s going a little extreme, Stromboli. The fact that this is a big man with an even bigger temper does make him pretty intimidating. This guy may not be one of Disney’s more powerful villains, but he’s certainly one to be remembered.

Lady Stromboli may look nice, but she’s definitely plotting something far more sinister with her audience.

There’s something about this version of a female Stromboli that’s pretty. . . unnerving. Maybe it’s the crazed look in her eyes and smile, or maybe it’s those puppets she has. Either way, Lady Stromboli may look nice, but she’s definitely plotting something far more sinister with her audience. I like her outfit though; it’s simple but great for a performer. Since we don’t really know a ton about Stromboli, we don’t know if he was up to sinister things (other than locking his star in a cage), but I could see him being involved with some darker stuff, and female Stromboli would be too.

7 Have Some Candy!

While I did figure out pretty quickly that King Candy was the villain, despite his attempts to look like the good guy, I was a bit surprised to find out he was actually Turbo. It was one of those details that should’ve been obvious to me (they hinted at it pretty heavily throughout the movie), and I still didn’t catch it. King Candy is one of those villains who’s pretty entertaining and seems relatively harmless. But once you learn more about him and his motives, he turns out to be a pretty slimy guy. This guy basically doomed Vanellope and ostracized her from everyone in Sugar Rush, just so he could take over that game and be the top guy. That’s just low, dude.

It would be pretty fun to see a Queen Candy. I can guarantee she would be just as conniving and manipulating as her male counterpart. She’d probably be just as friendly and pandering to the crowd too. She would definitely be good at being friendly on the surface but then being threatening and freaky when it counted. It would be kind of scary to see this seemingly goofy and harmless lady get angry. I don’t think her interactions with the other characters would change too much.

6 Basil Had Better Watch Out

What was so great about Ratigan is that on the surface he seems like this rather sophisticated villain who has a flair for the dramatic and is all about being posh and surprisingly well mannered. But then you get glimpses of his true nature when he’s angry. This is a guy who’s trying rather hard to appear to be someone of great control when in reality, he’s a nothing more than a very angry, vicious rat. And that moment when his façade of control drops is a very chilling and interesting moment. He does attack Basil pretty brutally in the clock tower, clawing his back and side. Ratigan may wish to be all posh and pomp, but he can very brutal and animalistic.

I’d love to see how a female Ratigan matched wits with Basil.

A female Ratigan would definitely be very interesting. I’d love to see how she matched wits with Basil. Her temper would probably be just as volatile, if not worse. Though I would love to see her prancing about like her male counterpart, reveling in her crimes and celebrating being a baddie. She would absolutely love it. And this artist’s version of her makes her look very suave and sophisticated. This is a very posh lady who would end you and make it look like it was just another day’s work.

5 She Will Make You Walk The Plank

It’s kind of hard to decide whether Long John Silver is actually a villain or not. True, he is a pirate captain, and he did betray Captain Amelia, Dr. Doppler, and Jim in order to get the treasure, and he’s definitely not above ending people to get what he wants. By most definitions, he’s definitely considered a baddie. But then we see how he is around Jim, how much he cares for the kid, and how he hesitates when he has the opportunity to end him. And in the end, he gives up the treasure in order to save this kid that he’s grown to care about. So, we could consider him a villain, but a more complex one. In the end, we’re glad Jim set him free because despite his flaws, we can’t help but like Silver.

And a female Silver is, well, a little weird to be honest. I don’t know, something about her makes me a bit nervous, though maybe that’s the point. These two artists’ versions of our favorite pirate are pretty awesome. I think female Silver would be just as ruthless and cunning. And it would be really interesting to see her relationship with Jim. But you definitely don’t want to double-cross this pirate lady!

4 Don’t Let This Duchess Into Your Kingdom

If Hans surprised us all, I don’t think any of us were surprised that the Duke of Weselton turned out to be a baddie. We knew his intentions from the beginning and while he did start out as relatively harmless, he grows to be one of the main guys calling out for Elsa’s blood. This guy is the epitome of intolerance, prejudice, and colonialism. He wants access to Arendelle’s resources and he’s determined to get them one way or another. If that means the capture of the main queen under the excuse that she’s a monster and dangerous, so be it. And that’s what makes him pretty unnerving, especially because these types of people totally existed and still do.

I don’t think a Duchess of Weselton would be much different than a Duke. She’d still be set on getting access to those resources and possibly taking over Arendelle. And you could bet she’d be the first person in line to start the manhunt for Elsa. I like that this artist didn’t change too much about this female character. She’s still an older woman dressed in a rather conservative gown (which looks pretty good on her). This lady may be a greedy imperialist, but she knows how to look sophisticated.

3 She’ll Capture All Of The Animals

While we can agree that Clayton started out as a rather unpleasant man, I don’t think we were quite expecting him to go all full psycho on Tarzan like he did. Though I guess if you push a guy like that far enough, he’s bound to snap. Clayton is a man of business; he knows a fortune when he spots one, and in this case, it’s a bunch of exotic African animals that will fetch him a ton of money. This guy is pretty ruthless, and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

She would totally wear men’s clothing when she’s out hunting.

And I can tell you that a female Clayton would be just as ruthless. (Side note: did you know that according to the Tarzan and Jane series, Clayton actually had a sister? And she was just as scary as her brother, if not scarier). A female Clayton would be pretty terrifying when she’s mad, and she would be brutally efficient. While I don’t think she’d be wearing short shorts like this version is, I could see her being pretty casual in her clothing. She would totally wear men’s clothing when she’s out hunting, and she wouldn’t really care about what was proper and improper. Watch out for this hunter; she will end you without a second thought.

Art by Blastedgoose.

2 She’s The Boogie… Woman?

Did you know that The Nightmare Before Christmas was done by Disney? Well, technically it was distributed by Disney through Touchstone Pictures, but yeah, Disney has its name on this rather dark movie. There’s a lot about this movie that definitely crosses the line from strange into downright creepy territory. But it’s about a town that’s all about Halloween, so some creepiness does make sense. And the main villain of this movie is a truly disturbing creation. Seriously, Oogie Boogie is just freaky with the fact that he’s basically a burlap sack full of bugs that shaped into a vague image of a man. And his demise is just as disturbing since his sack is ripped away and the bugs inside him burn in his own boiling concoction. What a lousy way to go.

I hadn’t thought that Oogie Boogie could be redesigned as female, but some fans have done it. And she looks pretty cool, actually. While I don’t know if a female Oogie Boogie would be as… shapely as these artists make her be, I do like that they still stuck with the fact that she’s essentially made out of a burlap sack and bugs. She’ll still be haunting my nightmares.

1 You Really Don’t Want To Make This Little Girl Angry

Gideon Gleeful from Gravity Falls reminds me of those spoiled, bratty little kids that throw a tantrum when they don’t get their way. And when you boil it down, that’s pretty much what he is: a spoiled child. Throw in some crazy magic powers and a more psychotic temper, and you’ve got Gideon Gleeful. This kid capitalizes on the fact that people find him just adorable and irresistible, but on the inside, he craves control and respect. This guy was the main antagonist for Dipper and Mabel at the end of Season 1, and he’s not a kid you want to anger. What’s also scary about him is that he’s really good at working a crowd against you and using the whole mob mentality to take you down. It’s creepy.

A girl Gideon Gleeful would be interesting. I don’t know if her personality would change too much, though she would capitalize on her cuteness even more. Maybe she’d still have a thing for Mabel, maybe not. But she would definitely still have her ongoing feud with Grunkle Stan. It would also be interesting to see her interact with other characters like Dipper, Wendy, or even Bill. I wonder if she would get the same redemption arc that boy Gideon got?
