Destiny 2: Beyond Light has added Europa and Darkness Subclasses to the franchise for the first time. New items to earn and a new raid are enough to keep any avid Destiny fan busy. To make matters worse, there are also multiple quests that unlock Stasis Subclass features and certain boons while patrolling Europa’s frozen wastes.

With the number of progression systems introduced after Beyond Light’s campaign, it can be disorienting figuring out what to do. Fortunately, most of them are rather simple and complement the game’s core progression systems well. From upgrading Stasis to exploring a fan-favorite location, here are 20 things you can do after you beat Destiny 2’s Beyond Light campaign. This article will not contain activities tied to Season of the Hunt.

Updated December 12th, 2020 by Charles Burgar: A substantial amount of Beyond Light’s content was unlocked after the Deep Stone Crypt raid was completed. Since the first completion of that raid, a plethora of new content has unlocked on Europa and new loot pursuits have become known to the community. Besides these new additions, some fan-favorite content such as the Prophecy dungeon has returned. We have added a few additional entries to reflect the recent additions as well as some general gameplay pursuits you can partake in. As before, we are not including Season of the Hunt’s content as that is not part of the Beyond Light expansion.

20 Earn New Exotics

A new batch of Exotics came with the Beyond Light expansion, all of which are fantastic in their own way. Hunters got some of the strongest Exotics in franchise history, Warlocks got some great Exotics tied to their Super and melee, and Titans have some incredible PvP options. There are also quite a few Exotic weapons that are rather potent such as Cloudstrike and The Lament.

All new Exotic armor pieces are tied to Legend and Master-difficulty Lost Sectors on Europa and the Cosmodrome. Most of Beyond Light’s weapons are tied to quests, although the Cloudstrike Exotic Sniper Rifle can be obtained from difficult Empire Hunts. No matter what class you play, these Exotics are definitely worth chasing.

19 Reach Legend Rank In Competitive Crucible

PvP has seen little additions with the release of Beyond Light. That said, the Crucible sandbox is the most diverse and balanced it’s ever been in Destiny 2’s history. Nearly every weapon archetype is viable in the current sandbox and most Subclasses are in a good place.

Those that want to truly dive into the intricacies of PvP might enjoy the climb to Legend in the Glory-enabled playlists—Elimination and Survival, both of which rotate weekly. Enter the freelance playlist or grab two friends and prepare to learn a lot. There might not be a great carrot on a stick like Not Forgotten, but the well-balanced sandbox makes 3v3 Crucible more engaging than ever before.

18 Farm Masterwork Materials

Due to how well Charged with Light and Warmind Cells synergize with Stasis, many players are focusing on Masterworking their armor to equip as many Mods as possible. This is a great idea, although you’re going to need a stockpile of Masterwork materials to do this.

Master and Grandmaster Nightfalls are by far the best activities to farm. Completing a Platinum run will frequently give out Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards, both of which are guaranteed for Grandmaster Nightfalls. Make sure to grab two other Guardians before attempting this pinnacle activity. Also, keep an eye out for double Nightfall loot weeks.

If you can’t find a team to clear Nightfalls with, complete a Pit of Heresy run every week. Defeating the final boss will grant a Masterworked piece of gear that grants multiple Enhancement Prisms and Cores. Do this dungeon on all three of your characters to earn 18 Enhancement Prisms a week.

17 Earn Adept Trials Weapons

Adept weapons have made their debut in Destiny 2’s Trials of Osiris. Going flawless will grant players Adept variants of classic Trials guns. Unlike standard gear, Adept weapons have a unique Adept Mod slot that can equip more powerful variants of classic weapon Mods. Masterworked Adept weapons also grant a +3 stat boost to every stat on top of the +10 stat boost that they typically provide. If you have what it takes to go flawless, these weapons are the ultimate PvP loot pursuit.

16 Level Your Guardian

Raising your Power level is a core part of any expansion release. Assuming your Guardian isn’t already at the soft cap of 1,200 after the campaign, it is a good idea to increase your Power level to tackle harder content on Europa.

Playing strikes, Gambit, and Crucible are typical methods of obtaining rare gear that grants Power. For those that want to make this process even faster, consider farming Lost Sectors in the EDZ to quickly get your Power level to the soft cap. The Widow’s Walk Lost Sector seems to be the best place to farm for stronger gear. If the above method gets nerfed, farming powerful Nightmares on the Moon also grants an almost-guaranteed chance at stronger gear. Once at the soft cap, increase your Power level to 1,250 by completing weekly activities listed on the Director.

15 Unlock Stasis Features

Unlocking Stasis in the campaign shows only a small bit of its potential. Unlike other Subclasses, Stasis uses a new system named Aspects and Fragments that grant unique passives, alter your abilities, or grant you new abilities altogether. To obtain new Stasis Subclass features, complete certain NPC quests that become available after beating the campaign.

14 Farm New Mods

With the introduction of Ghost Shell Mods, there are a few new Mods to obtain in the world pool. There are also a few new armor Mods to find.

As with most Mods, you can find these new Mods from Engrams or packages granted by vendors. Turn in any surplus tokens you have or farm certain activities to get your hands on new Mods such as a stronger version of Guiding Light named Blinding Light.

13 Complete The New Light Quest

New players start Destiny 2 with a revitalized quest that takes them through Destiny 2’s core gameplay systems while showing them around the Cosmodrome. Since many Destiny 2 players have never experienced the original game’s Cosmodrome, starting this quest to get a lay of the land is a good idea. Head to the Quest Archive terminal in the Tower to start this quest for yourself.

12 Discover Europa’s Secrets

Some Destiny fans have found certain secrets tied to Europa. There are collectible penguins, Augment Challenges, and dead Exos scattered throughout the frozen moon that players can collect for unique rewards. There are also three unique Exo Challenges that can be completed for pinnacle gear. With how many secret Triumphs are tied to Europa, there’s no reason not to uncover some of them for yourself.

11 Complete Sabotage Quests

One of the NPCs in Beyond Light will grant unique quests under the “Sabotage” tab after you complete the main quest. Similar to seasonal progression systems, you will be given the choice between different boons that require a small quest to be completed beforehand.

Some rewards include getting free Crystocrene armor drops from activities, increased rewards from activities, and the ability to complete elected difficulty Empire Hunts that are required to unlock some of Beyond Light’s new Exotics.

10 Earn Ritual Gear

Core activities have a shared Ritual weapon and armor set in Beyond Light. The weapon is named Adored, Bungie’s take on a variant of the fan-favorite Beloved Sniper Rifle from Season of Opulence. Its unique perk combination of Killing Wind and Snapshot Sights makes it a great Adaptive Sniper for aggressive players that have good aim.

For the first time in Destiny 2, there is also a unique armor set that can be obtained by completing certain weekly challenges. Both items also have unique appearances based on the activity a player chooses to farm. If you like Gambit, then you can just play Gambit and unlock both items with unique Gambit decals. There is a unique decal for the gun and armor set that can be earned from strikes, Gambit, and the Crucible. You can choose to farm all three activities to get the three different skin variants.

9 Obtain New Weapons

Europa has a few new weapons that you can farm for after completing the campaign. Progress through the Sabotage quests until you complete the Europan Explorer I quest. This will allow you to complete weapon bounties for the new guns in a similar vein to Shadowkeep’s weapon roster. There are also a few new Exotic weapons to hunt down. Two are tied to quests, one is tied to the raid, and the rest are tied to elected difficulty Empire Hunts.

8 Unlock Artifact Mods

Artifact Mods play a large role in endgame builds due to their power. While Oppressive Darkness might not be around this season, Season of the Hunt’s Mods are nothing to scoff at.

Every anti-Champion weapon Mod in this season is tied to the arm Mod slot instead of the weapon Mod slot. Hand Cannon Targeting can be obtained for one energy, Shotgun Scavenger can also be obtained for one energy, Spoils of War drops Heavy ammo after slaying a Champion, and Berserker gives players a damage buff based on how many enemies they killed during their Super. Needless to say, there are some absurdly strong Mods in this season’s artifact that are worth chasing.

7 Partake In Empire Hunts

Instead of obtaining a small suite of new strikes, Beyond Light introduced a new PvE activity named Europa Hunts. These mini-strikes offer a plethora of rewards when completed on higher difficulties.

Standard Empire Hunts offer powerful Europa weapons that have a great selection of perks. Those that complete Variks’ Sabotage quests will be able to complete these activities on a higher difficulty, granting high-stat armor, Enhancement Cores, and a chance at obtaining the powerful Cloudstrike Exotic Sniper Rifle.

6 Complete Exo Challenges

Exo Challenges are short activities that mimick dungeon mechanics, forcing players to manage debuffs or parkour through ever-changing environments. With the right Variks Sabotage bounties, this activity can grant a Pinnacle drop on your first completion every reset. Besides the Pinnacle drop, this activity is a great way to practice your PvE skills before attempting a dungeon or raid.

5 Create An Overpowered Build

Theorycrafting builds is finally a core part of the Destiny 2 experience. The inclusion of Aspects and Fragments for the new Stasis Subclasses has allowed for dozens of new builds that were previously impossible.

Figure out what aspect of your build you wish to focus on. Do you want to throw constant grenades while using Stasis? Use Firepower Charged with Light Mods and couple that with the Whisper of Shards Fragment to have a grenade ready every few seconds. Does spamming your Super sound fun? Run the Whisper of Bonds Fragment to turn frozen enemies into sources of Super energy. More tips related to buildcrafting can be found here.

4 Earn Titles

Besides previous titles such as Cursebreaker and Dredgen that weren’t sunset, Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt introduced a few new titles for players to earn.

Beyond Light owners can earn the Splintered and raid-exclusive Descendent titles while Season of the Hunt users can chase the Warden title. Each title in Destiny 2 requires an absurd amount of time commitment and some luck, but these prestigious titles are a fun endgame chase for those that have done virtually everything else the game has to offer. Older titles such as Unbroken and Dredgen are still available for those that would rather stick to the Crucible of Gambit, respectively.

3 *Solo Flawless A Dungeon

If farming a title seems too time-consuming or requires too much busywork, you might enjoy attempting a solo flawless dungeon run. These runs require you to complete a dungeon by yourself without dying or leaving.

Three dungeons exist that you can attempt this on: Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, and Prophecy. Pit of Heresy and Prophecy both provide unique emblems upon completing a solo flawless run. All three dungeons provide a unique Triumph upon completion. For those that can’t get a fireteam together to raid, this is a great alternative that pushes your build to the limit.

2 Farm Master Lost Sectors

Season of the Worthy’s Legendary Lost Sectors have made their way into the core game with the release of the Beyond Light expansion. Europa and the Cosmodrome have difficulty variants of their Lost Sectors that rotate on a daily basis.

Two difficulties exist for these rotating Lost Sectors, Legend and Master. Legend Lost Sectors are 1250 Power while Master is 1280 Power and has additional modifiers. Completing these tough mini-dungeons will offer a high chance at an Exotic when completed solo, an Exotic that is forced to drop for a certain armor slot. Those that want to farm a god-roll Mask of Bakris or Tranversive Steps finally have an alternative to Nightfall grinding.

1 Complete The Deep Stone Crypt Raid

One of the best additions tied to any major Destiny expansion is a new raid to conquer. Beyond Light has introduced the Deep Stone Crypt raid, arguably one of the most rewarding raids Bungie has ever released.

Besides the fantastic encounters that offer a great deal of variety, the loot tied to the Deep Stone Crypt raid is some of the best players can earn in Destiny 2 right now. The Eyes of Tomorrow Exotic Rocket Launcher, Posterity Hand Cannon, Heritage Kinetic Shotgun, and the Commemoration Machine Gun offer some of the strongest perk combinations in franchise history. Definitely farm this raid when you achieve a Power Level of 1240 or 1250.
