If being trapped inside your house during this coronavirus lockdown is getting to you, IO Interactive has the perfect answer for that. For PS4 owners, the entire first season of 2016’s Hitman is free on the PlayStation Store. While this doesn’t include the “Game of the Year” content, you’re still getting access to six different locales with a ton of assassination targets.

If you’ve already downloaded some of Hitman’s episodes for free (IO ran similar promotions when shifting away from the episodic model), you won’t be able to grab the first season outright. You’ll need to, instead, download each episode individually due to some logistical error on Sony’s store. Similarly, if you grabbed Hitman when it was free on PlayStation Plus, you won’t be able to “purchase” this if your subscription is still active.

Unintuitive store design aside, this offer is worth grabbing. For the sequel, Hitman 2, IO actually sells an upgrade pack that lets you play all of 2016’s levels with the updated engine. In fact, you can grab Hitman 2’s free level and play these original levels without buying anything else. It’s a nice incentive to purchase the sequel, which is all-around a better game.

This offer will be active until May 3, after which Hitman will return to its regular price. If you’ve got an itchy trigger finger, make sure to jump on this before too long.
