Ah yes, just what 2020 needs - a Cannibal Holocaust game! It seems our prayers have been answered.

But seriously, the on-screen brutality towards both people and animals was so stomach-turningly disturbing and unnaturally convincing that Deodato was put on trial under suspicions that he had just aired a snuff film. Some went so far as to say the on-screen human deaths might actually have been real. They weren’t, of course, but unfortunately the same can’t be said about the animal deaths.

So anyways, fast-forward to the trashfest that is 2020 and we find Deodato teaming up with Fantastico Studio to produce a sequel to the 1980 cult horror. You know, just to lift our spirits a bit. But the sequel will be in the form of a Unity-made “interactive graphic adventure” game entitled Cannibal, following the particularly unenviable scenario of a bunch of people getting lost in the forests of Borneo.

The game will be available in November 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. Can’t wait to sink our teeth into this one.
