Comic books stretch the imagination so far and wide that we tend to turn a blind eye to all the outlandish things happening. If one were to apply physics to the miracle antics of the superheroes then all the scientists in the world would quit their jobs trying to explain the rationality behind the heroes’ abilities.

Due to this, it’s quite an achievement by comics, or movies that are based on these comics, to showcase such acts that make us raise our eyebrows. There’s not much that can qualify as insanely over the top but on some instances that happens. What will be more surprising for one to know is that a lot of them are the commonplace traits in display.

Pointing these logical flaws might ruin the experience for the movie goer, and hence it’s best not to take them too seriously. But what you can do is use these points to look at the movies in a different manner. This way one might see something in the plot they haven’t noticed before.

If nothing else, at least you can enjoy the following comics as the humor in them is true, to say the least. Comic book fans make memes and fan comics of their own to portray funny situations not seen in canon and the DC comics in this list are sure to tickle the funny bone.

23 Think It Over, Bruce

Gotham city’s main problem is the high crime rate. The city is rampant with organized crime for the most part, but it is littered with henchman too. These goons probably join the villains because they have no jobs to apply for. Bruce Wayne has more money than anyone else in the DC universe, and what does he do with it?

He uses creative accounting to hide his investments in Batman armory.

Putting the situation in real-life terms will reveal a more legit way of handling the crime rate in Gotham city. That would be by creating new jobs and providing adequate salaries so that people aren’t swayed toward crime. Instead, we have Bruce Wayne making nifty gadgets and beating criminals to a pulp only, for them to return and the cycle continues.

22 Bang Bang!

Batman has become a symbol of fighting crime without becoming a bloodthirsty vigilante. He refuses to take lives, and to top it off doesn’t even hold a gun, let alone use it. The Dark Knight Trilogy took this into account and had Batman tackling his foes while remaining within the confines of his all-important policy not to use guns.

It appears that policy doesn’t include machine guns, high-range ballistics, or missiles.

Batman’s Batpod was ripe with guns of all kinds that he used during high-speed chase sequences. That was nothing compared to the Batmobile, which is a mini-weapon of mass destruction. It can destroy tanks, can shoot missiles, and cause large-scale havoc. But let’s just focus on how noble Batman is for not firing a handgun.

21 Why Wear Those Trunks?

In recent times some of the ludicrousness of the earlier works of DC comics have been removed. From Superman to Superman Returns, Superman was seen in his classic costume all with wearing his underwear on the outside. Christopher Reeve is said to be the most accurate looking Superman or Clark Kent we have seen on the screen, but he still looks goofy with the bright red trunks on full display.

The animated universe remained loyal to the classic looks longer and we saw both Batman and Superman wearing their trunks on the outside. What use they have for these trunks is a mystery, and maybe Superman and Batman do wash and dry them as depicted in the above comic.

20 Dumb To The Highest Degree

When the most powerful Justice League member is debated the winners usually are either Superman or the Martian Manhunter. These two have a wide array of abilities, with J’onn Jonzz even being the world’s strongest telepath. But theoretically, you could argue Green Lantern is the strongest.

Green Lanterns can will anything with their mind.

Yet we see either Hal Jordan or John Stewart – depending on the Justice League incarnation we’re watching – always get heavy punishment from foes. In the above comic, in particular, Green Lantern is seen wielding a physical gun. It’s not even one he’s made using the ring. What use does he have for a normal gun? The ring can conjure whatever the Green Lantern wants and this guy hasn’t bothered to use his mind at all.

19 I Must Away!

One of the trademarks of the Batman character is his mysteriousness. We know he is Bruce Wayne under the mask, but when he puts on the cowl he becomes an entity of his own. Forming part of this mysterious identity are Batman’s habitual traits. Included in this is his penchant for all things dramatic. Commissioner Gordon is usually at the receiving end of Batman’s habit of disappearing away without notice.

In this comic, we see Gordon having reached the end of his tether and refusing to take eyes off Batman. As Batman isn’t actually a super-powered being, he can’t very well vanish before Gordon’s eyes. To this end, we see him humorously attempting to distract Gordon so he can make an escape.

18 No One Remains Gone

No one remains done and away in the comic book world. Whether it is DC, Marvel or any other comic you like to read you can be rest assured any character who has kicked the bucket will return somehow, unless that character is named Ben Parker or Thomas and Martha Wayne.

Superhero comics can keep characters deceased only for so long.

This is because it’s just not possible to keep coming out with original storylines without popular characters. At some point, it gets boring without the character that has proven to be popular with readers, or viewers if we’re talking about movies. Hence, that’s why we saw Superman return in Justice League after we had seen his end in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

17 Poor Baby

Superman’s powers can never make sense in the real world. For one if he moves at super speed and rescues someone that person has to be splattered to their demise seeing that Superman is supposed to be tougher than anything in the world. Another is how he has super hearing but doesn’t go insane with the relentless voices in his ear. But we’re not discussing those flaws at the moment.

Here we see Superman accidentally finishing off a little baby. It ironically makes sense as Superman’s X-ray vision should be can be confused with his heat vision. Turns out Clark misjudged himself and lasered the poor little baby off. Superman’s powers have been in such fluctuation it actually fits he would mistake one for the other from time to time.

16 Trolled

Superman’s weakness is Kryptonite. That’s something that has never changed in all the years the character has been in print or onscreen. It adds some intrigue for viewers as the character seems to be almost completely invulnerable to anything else. But what doesn’t make sense is how no one has come up with a solution for that problem.

The comic universe is filled geniuses of all kinds and we are to believe no one ever came up with some kind of solution to Kryptonite’s harm to Superman? In this comic Green Lantern trolls his friend by conjuring up a Kryptonite projection, much to Clark’s fright. As it happens, it was Batman’s idea. This comic shows a lighter moment between Justice League members while also showing Superman’s fear of Kryptonite.

15 Hairy Origins

Every superhero seems to have to undergo some loss to turn into her they are known to be. Batman lost his parents, Superman lost his whole planet, the same goes for Martian Manhunter. It’s uncanny how they all have this in similar but makes sense they would find some kinship with one another due to this common loss. For supervillains, the reasoning is sometimes not so tragic.

For instance, Lex Luthor was villainous just for kicks.

In the movie universe, we saw him being like a jumpy kid in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and no proper justification was provided for him wanting Batman and Superman out of the picture. Thus, this comic is accurate in that the loss of his hairs was reason enough for Luthor to become a bad guy.

14 Good Guy Joker

Captain America seemingly turned evil a couple years ago by revealing he had always been aligned with HYDRA. This shocked the fanbase to its core and many memes were born to highlight a big twist you would never see coming.

This comic sees a contrast in that Captain America is seen as the antagonist while Joker turns out to be a good guy by advising superheroes to take off masks to give them some oxygen supply. That does raise a point in that Superheroes don’t seem to have any difficulties breathing when wearing masks that conceal their whole faces. This comic also showcases Joker’s lunatic psyche in that he easily disposes of thousands of people with a laugh yet shows concern for a superhero’s breathing difficulty.

13 Fantastic Logic

There’s a good argument against Batman supporters who claim he can beat Superman in that the dark knight has no powers to rely on. Superman is on a God-tier level of power and no man-made gadgets could bring him down. Thus, Superman’s loss in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was met with many eye-rolling from Superman fans.

But they overlooked Lex Luthor is even weaker in physicality to Batman and he has beaten Superman before.

In fact, Luthor is credited as the perfect foil for Superman due to the huge contrast as Superman is all-powerful on paper while Luthor has no powers at all. Going by that logic it should make absolute sense that Batman can beat Superman as Bruce Wayne is also a genius and with more than adept fighting skills to boot.

12 Let It Go

Batman doesn’t pull back any punches when it comes to speaking his mind. He is one of the most blunt you could find in the comic book universe, or even compared to someone in real-life for that matter! Superman can be argued as Batman’s best friend, but the dark knight treats those closest to him with even more venom filled words.

In this comic Superman shows Batman his fortress of solitude. This is the secret place he comes to for solace and only a select few are privy to it. One might expect finding out about the fortress would make anyone giddy with anticipation with what’s inside but Batman isn’t too impressed and calls Superman Elsa from Frozen because the cold doesn’t bother him.

11 Deal Breaker

It might sound bizarre but there are those crazy fanboy types who will shun someone that doesn’t share their choice of interest. Comic book fans are notorious for this with the most famous example being DC and Marvel fanboys, the most ardent of whom even get into fist fights over comic arguments.

Then there are those who refuse to date people who like certain movies.

This comic illustrates a person who runs out on a sure thing when he sees the girl he’s on a date with having a frame that reads she’s given Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a 10 out of 10. That film is infamous for letting down a number of fans and this comic would suggest this guy is having none of it when it comes to being with someone who likes Batman v Superman.

10 Wasting Money

Although the above comic points out the stupid logic of Green Arrow putting a boxing glove on an arrow, the superhero’s traits don’t make sense in any case. First lets facepalm at how ridiculous it is for him to use a boxing glove in the first place, despite the lame reasoning he gives for doing so. Shooting an arrow with a boxing glove attached isn’t as effective as say… shooting an actual arrow!

But let this be an eye-opener for the fact that Green Arrow is a multi-billionaire around the same ballpark as Batman yet he doesn’t even come slightly close in gadgetry to the dark knight. He is seen as among the weakest members of the Justice League. What does he do with all that money?

9 The Unbeatable Bat

The implication behind the above picture might not seem obvious at first sight but understanding the words will uncover that the creator of the picture is inferring that Batman is a way bigger deal than Wonder Woman and Superman. Here lies the flaw in logic. For all of Wayne’s mastery of combat, his genius, and his arsenal of weapons he still can’t lace boots with these two.

Superman and Wonder Woman are just too strong.

Even in the Justice League movie, we saw Batman’s original plan to be only involved as a distraction and let Wonder Woman take the reins as the leader. And it was only when Superman appeared did they beat Steppenwolf. Unfortunately, hardcore Batman fans do not listen to reason and argue he is the most powerful of the trio.

8 Wrong Weapon

This comic will show people the bromance between Batman and Superman. Inwardly, Batman knows he views Clark Kent as his younger brother, and we see him treat Superman that way on many occasions. Despite that, the dark knight is adamant when he claims he has Kryptonite stashed in his Batcave for a day when Superman might turn to the dark side. This is true, too, as in Batman Beyond, we saw an older Bruce Wayne hand the new Batman Kryptonite to stop the mind-controlled Superman.

However, through all that, these two are still great friends, along with the rest of the Justice League members. As illustrated above, Batman accidentally snagged the Green Lantern’s ring except for Kryptonite and his warning seems to have fallen rather flat.

7 We’re All Supermen

Never try to mix comic logic with real-world logic, lest you want results like the one seen above. In comic books, we see world breaker creatures capable of destroying entire planets with a single punch. True to this, we have an example in the form of Superman who is on such a level that he can finish off all the weaponry of the world in one go. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice he even survived a straight hit from a nuclear bomb.

Don’t mistake yourself into thinking you’re actually stronger than Superman.

Superman is known as the Man of Steel due to his tough exterior, not literally because he is as strong as steel. But taking things into a funnier context, if we do take the words literally then we are all ultimately Superman.

6 Cat Fight

A crossover with Marvel has already happened several times, if you didn’t already know. We’ve even seen the Justice League take on the Avengers in an all-out battle. These issues are all non-canonical hence why they aren’t so well-known. It’s a shame there aren’t more crossovers, however, as it would make for some very interesting pairings.

Who wouldn’t enjoy seeing Darkseid and Thanos together? Or maybe Thor and Superman. Then there are those characters who have the same powers and abilities. This comic shows a face-off between Black Cat and Catwoman where the two felines are being restrained by Batman and Spider-Man. Batman has been romantically involved with Catwoman while the same goes for Spider-Man with Black Cat.

5 Little Kids As Sidekicks

The darkest setting for the core Justice League members has to be the backdrop Batman belongs to. While the Flash’s storylines are more family-friendly and Superman’s are more designed to bring hope, Batman’s antagonists don’t play around too much.

The Joker has ended Robin’s life in the DC Extended Universe.

It might not be well-known, as there was only a snippet of this fact in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but in this universe, Robin perished at the hands of Joker and Harley Quinn. This highlights how it doesn’t make sense that some snark from a kid such as Robin convinces Batman of all people to throw him in the face of danger regularly. Even in the DC Animated Universe Robin had been brainwashed by Joker into his ‘son’.

4 Ridiculous Strength Levels

When it comes to Superman the best way to enjoy his stories is to suspend any level of disbelief. After all, the number of powers he has is insane. He has x-ray vision, laser vision, ice breath, super speed, super hearing, Flight, Solar regeneration, Super durability, and super strength.

However, sometimes this gets so ridiculous it becomes hard to digest. According to the above comic book fact, Superman is so strong a machine that weighed as much as the Earth did could not take further bench pressing from Superman. First of all, how can a machine with such a mass not collapse into a black hole? And if Superman were that level of strong then even he holds back, his punches should obliterate anyone or anything.
