There are some cartoon films that will always be classics. Some will be described as classics shortly after their release, while others may not do too well when they are first released, then become a cult classic down the line. Sometimes a film is incredibly popular when first released, then decades later is still loved by generation after generation. Although we all like different animated films, everyone seems to have their favorite, no matter what kind of person they are. It’s no wonder given how many films there are to choose from.
While animated films are more likely to be given multiple sequels, particularly if they come from Pixar, at the end of every film there is the question: What happens next? So many films end with a happy moment, a romance or a happily ever after. What about the rest of their normal lives, their everyday lives? Luckily, one of the wonderful things about animated movies is that their fans are willing to fill in those gaps with their own imaginations!
For a lot of people, after the romance and the happy ending, the next thing to come are the children. Not for everybody and maybe not for a while after the happy ending. But they are a possibility for some people. So which cartoon film characters do fans imagine with kids down the line? Which parent do those kids take after and how do they reflect what happened in the film? These fun fan arts are about to show us!
25 Next In Line
A Frozen fan theory I love is that Elsa inherited her powers from her Father, who has a small amount of magical ability. It explains how he knew where to find the trolls, along with all his theories that “the gloves will help” and that “getting upset only makes it worse.” He seems to have some knowledge, even if the ideas are dangerous, so where did that come from?
If this is the case, then Elsa should be able to pass her powers down to her own children, if she has any.
Luckily, we never saw Elsa as a toddler in the film, but I imagine she was a handful! This fan art shows a cross-over pairing between Elsa and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. While I certainly don’t ship it personally (being either Team: Give Elsa a Girlfriend or Team: Elsa is Happy by Herself), I understand that it’s a popular cross-canon pairing. Given that their child has their mother’s ice powers and, hopefully, their Father’s way with wild beasts, this kid could turn out to be a pretty good ruler. Especially if Aunt Anna taught them how to make the perfect sandwiches for their subjects!

24 New Toys
I know what you’re all thinking; don’t worry, I’m thinking it too. Toys can’t have babies! They’re toys! They’re child’s playthings! They’re made of plastic, felt, string and flashing lights. But toys can apparently become sentient, have adventures while children aren’t watching and apparently have romantic attachments, like Buzz and Jessie. I suppose the romance isn’t so ridiculous. They are alive, after all, and capable of emotions. But they can’t procreate.
It doesn’t matter, really; everything is possible in your own imagination. After all, these two have amazing stories to tell their children. Jessie’s adventures, her recovery from her abandonment, and how she escaped the crazy chicken man with Uncle Woody. Buzz can tell his kids all about his adventures in space exploration, escaping Sid’s house and how he managed to find his way back to Andy’s new house! I love how the kids are designed too. They have this sweet combination of the couple’s outfits, which would make sense if they were toys made from the two of them. No matter which owners they go to over the years, I hope this toy family sticks together, continuing to overcome whatever the world throws at them, be it abandonment or a fiery inferno!

23 Wild Children
I know, why was I complaining about how Buzz and Jessie, two toys can have children, then how can I bring up a happy family between a bunny and a fox! I get very confused when watching something involving highly evolved animals, wandering around like humans. I was just as confused when I watched Bojack Horseman. In Zootopia, animals don’t appear to date outside their species, but I assume that they do. They talk and grow close with one another, so why wouldn’t they? Babies in this fan art seem to follow Bojack Horseman rules, in that offspring between species just seems to develop as one of the two species.
Which, in a fictional world, is fine. I’m not here to judge.
The little kids do look unbelievably adorable! I can’t deny it or stop myself saying it. That’s got to be one fuzzy, fluffy family! Imagine stepping into a pen of fox and bunny babies playing with one another. With a Zootopia sequel coming out next year, I doubt Judy and Nick will have reached this stage. I’m not convinced they’ll even be a couple, but even if they are I doubt they’ll have reached this point in their relationship. Even so, it’s certainly a very fluffy future that it’s very adorable to imagine.

22 Next Gen Rescue Team
The Rescuers was one of the most adorable things Disney ever made. Back before they became worried about kids becoming traumatized, they weren’t afraid to put in a few dark themes for a heart-warming pay-off. Sure, today’s parents wouldn’t be too happy with their kids watching a movie about insane child takers, but given how beautiful both films ended, they would have been a lot less emotional if the kids had just wandered off.
I’m completely with Bianca here! Their son looks positively adorable. Children used to be dressed for comfort rather than having boys and girls clothes. Even when clothes became more of a display of wealth rather than thinking of comfort; dressing your boy in frills and bows was normal. It showed how fancy you are! Their son looks completely adorable! What I will say is that it isn’t a very practical outfit for going off to save human children, not that they should take their son with them. I never pictured Bianca and Bernard having children just because it would certainly mean their retirement. The children of the world need them!
But perhaps this is them after a mission, spending quality time with their child before the next one. Celebrating with an adorable new outfit!

21 Little Frogs
Is it just me or does that baby look a little frog-like? Not trying to be mean or anything. I think they just have a very mature face for a little baby. They have a strong jaw, not the weird, pudgy baby face that all babies have. But it is a very cute image, of this family all cuddled together under the stars. I have wondered if Tiana and Naveen discussed whether or not they wanted kids when they were living as frogs. Were they prepared to raise their children as frogs? Would their tadpole have been able to talk? Or would they have been normal frogs?
One of the lines I find most irritating in The Princess and the Frog is when Tiana’s mother tells her: “I want some grandkids!” Tiana was nineteen! Don’t tell your nineteen-year-old daughter that she should get married and have kids! That’s not cool. It’s true, Disney Princesses move fast, but I preferred Tiana working hard to get her restaurant than running off with someone she barely knows.
I’ll stop being a buzzkill now. This is a beautiful fan art and a beautiful family. I hope they tell their children stories or all their adventures, teaching them the wonder of the world.

20 A New Bell Ringer
This is proof that even Quasimodo looks adorable as an anime character. Disney’s version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame is notable for subverting the genre, in that Quasimodo doesn’t “get the girl.” It’s interesting since, in the original novel, no one “gets the girl” and given how much they rewrote the story for the film, they could have easily changed the ending to make these two end up together. I’ve often questioned why they decided to make this into a film at all, given how violent the book really is and how much they had to change it to make it Disney-Friendly.
There are fans of the film who firmly believe that Esmerelda and Quasimodo should have gotten together.
They can’t change the ending of the film, or the sequel that Disney released, presumably to stop people feeling sorry for Quasimodo and give him a rushed romance with a new girl. But they can bring this couple together, showing a future that could have been. A new family that will live happily ever after in Paris. I love this art style too! I’d happily watch Frollo singing Hellfire it this style and I’d probably grin with glee the whole time.

19 Despicable Babies
Before anybody knew anything about Despicable Me 3, I remember seeing at least three articles speculating ideas that suggested the idea that Lucy might get pregnant. It’s something I see on forums constantly. Apparently, there are a lot of fans who are into the idea. Since a Despicable Me 4 has already been confirmed, despite the third one coming out last year, this future is still a possibility for these characters.
Three kids are enough for anyone, so I don’t see why they’d need to have a fourth.
But if they did decide to have a fourth, I like to think they’d have another girl, simply because I think it’s cute when Gru calls the kids “his girls.” But I’m sure a boy would fit in just as well.
There isn’t any need for these guys to extend their family, they’re cozy enough as it is, but if it is something that the creators decide to explore, I think it’ll make a lot of fans very happy. It would also add something new to the franchise. There have been plenty of films already. But since the fourth was revealed so quickly, one could assume they already had a plan in line.

18 Wishing For Your Family
Time for another Disney Princess! I’m not really looking forward to the live-action version of Aladdin. Let’s be honest, Robin Williams made that film. If he were still alive today, he would obviously have been brought back. Will Smith has a big lamp to fill and I don’t think he’ll be able to live up to it.
This family looks like they’ve come far from the events of the film. This couple has recovered from the up and down adventure with Jafar and the Genie, instead having settled down together to live a life of relative peace. Perhaps at this point in their story, they are ruling over Agrabah. Ruling it with diplomacy and tact whilst still making time for their children. I hope that Genie visits in between his travels to tell them stories of all he’s seen and give them fun impressions of people who may or may not exist in this timeline. He’ll tell them how their father freed him from the lamp and how brave their mother is.
I am concerned about the kid on Aladdin’s left shoulder though. That doesn’t look safe! Does the next part of this involve them picking that crying kid off up the floor?

17 Outside Of Paris
Sometimes, it’s not just the fans who show us the future of cartoon characters. Sometimes there might be something hidden inside the film for us to discover, particularly Pixar! There are fan theories surrounding a Pixar shared universe, which mostly lead to the destruction of humans or humans being defeated in some way. Moments like this make me wonder if that was the intention all along.
Some fans of both Ratatouille and Inside Out noticed that this popular girl looks a lot like Colette from Ratatouille.
The only notable difference is her brown eyes; the same color as Colette’s love interest Linguini. So, what if Inside Out is set years after Ratatouille. Perhaps after they’re adventures, Colette and Linguini moved to San Francisco to open up their own restaurant. They eventually have a daughter, who becomes popular due to her parent’s having one of the most successful restaurants in town. Now she goes to the same school as Riley. Given Pixar’s love of Easter Eggs, it’s certainly possible that this was intended, especially given how many five-star chefs live in San Francisco. All I know is that this is my headcanon for this girl now. Haven’t decided what her name is yet though.

16 Big Family Christmas
Well, this entry really is one big treat! Not only do we have everyone’s favorite Queen Elsa, from the still popular Frozen, we have Hiccup from DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon, Jack Frost from their other film Rise of the Guardians, and Princess Merida from Pixar’s Disney Princess film Brave.
I assume this is some sort of alternative universe. I’m not completely sure if these fandoms timelines line up in any way, but I’m assuming anyway that this is a modern universe where these guys are friends, maybe neighbors or relatives. Here Hiccup is married to Elsa and Merida is married to Jack. I love the various ages of their kids. Jack and Elsa’s eldest daughter looks like a young adult, yet their triplets could be around three or four. Mind you, you’d think Merida and Hiccup would have triplets since triplets possibly run in Merida’s family. The Christmas sweaters in Elsa and Hiccup’s family are really fun, although I don’t know how they got all three of their kids not only agree to that but to look enthusiastic!
While I firmly believe that this is an alternative universe, that’s a real dragon. This is an alternative universe with matching Christmas sweaters and dragons.
15 Little Monsters
The Monsters, Inc. universe is a very creative one. Every single monster in the world looks different and unique. Rarely do you encounter two monsters who look the same. Everyone is so detailed; it’s really amazing when you think about it. My theory is that, like humans, children inherit features from their parents. So, if one parent can breathe fire and the other can turn invisible, then their child could breathe fire and become invisible. Or one of the other or neither.
This baby, by Mikey and Celia, looks like a creative combination of the two monsters.
Obviously, the baby is a cyclops! With Mike’s horns and Celia’s cute lips! This proves if you didn’t know before that purple and green really go together. I am curious to know whether the child will sprout extra legs when it gets older. I don’t see how it can wriggle around on one tentacle. Plus, neither of their parents have one leg. Perhaps Celia just had one tentacle when she was born, then later she grew more and was able to move around. It’s a world of strange monsters, anything could happen! Probably makes things hard for the monster pediatricians, though.

14 Future Warriors
A lot of fans hate Mulan II. I understand why; Mushu becomes the villain and spends the whole film trying to break up Shang and Mulan. I do like the story between the princesses and the warriors, but not so much the main story involving the main character. But the bit that annoys me the most is during their engagement party when they are constantly disagreeing on everything. Shang says that he wants “as many children as possible” but Mulan isn’t sure if she wants any. Shang, if you agree to be the one to carry the children for the better part of the year then push them out of yourself, then you can have as many children as possible. (At the end of the film he doesn’t even give Mulan the big wedding she wanted!)
So, I like that Mulan doesn’t look sure in this fanart. They already have one small child. She would be understandably nervous about having another one. Luckily, given the length of her hair, they’ve been married for a while. Shang just better be happy with these two children! Maybe two is a good compromise for them. Between “maybe one or two” and “as many as possible.”

13 A New Pride
The Lion King II was perhaps one of the better Disney films. Also based on a Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, but rather being about two lovesick teenagers who end themselves and cause havoc over the course of a few days, it’s about two lions from rival prides over the course of a few years.
Perhaps when Kiara and Kovu finally become parents, things will be a little smoother for them. With no more rival prides or evil uncles to interfere with their happy lives. Mind you, we don’t know what becomes of Kion in the future. He doesn’t make an appearance in The Lion King II, since the character hadn’t been created yet, so fans have many theories about what happened to him during the time skip in the film. He was born sometime after Kiara and Kovu meet but disappears sometime before they are grown-ups.
I love the children. The one on the right having Kovu’s fur, but Kiara’s eyes and the one climbing on Mom looks more like Kiara but has her father’s eyes. Perhaps at this point, Kiara is Queen and is telling them the same stories her Father used to tell her.

12 Pumpkin Princess And Princes
The Nightmare Before Christmas is by far my favorite Disney film and one of my favorite animated films. Not only is it beautiful and wonderfully made, the songs are memorable and the story both dark and fun. It’s the sort of animated film you can’t grow out of and the sort of film that, I don’t think, anyone can be too young for.
Having said that, this is another one of the entries where I’m a little confused as to how they managed to have children. When Santa returns to Halloween Town, he finds Jack “with four or five skeleton children in their xylophone band.”
So, Jack does canonically have children and after the film, we can assume that Sally is their mother.
But Sally is made of leaves! She was created by Dr. Finklestein! Then again, they could have just created the children, maybe commissioned them from Dr. Finklestein. Sally is crafted, maybe she crafted them. Perhaps to bring in some heirs to the throne of Halloween Town! Since there is a major, I’m not sure how much power the monarch actually has, but they’re clearly important to the town. It would certainly take the pressure off Jack, knowing he won’t always have to be king.

11 Little Vikings
We’ve seen Hiccup twice already on this list, but not yet with his canonical love interest Astrid. (Or at least I assume so, you can only really see the back of her head. I’m just guessing because she’s blonde. Maybe I’m wrong) At the beginning of How to Train Your Dragon II, Hiccup’s father calls Astrid his “future daughter in law,” revealing that she and Hiccup are engaged or at least engaged to be engaged. Perhaps in the third film next year we’ll get more details. Perhaps Hiccup will be encouraged to bring forth his own heir now he is Chief.
I love Hiccup’s face here. I can completely imagine him being terrified to hold a baby for the first time… even his own baby! They’re just so small and fragile! Plus, you know that if anything happened to it whilst you were holding it you’d be known as a monster for the rest of your life.
This Viking Chief may have found his feet, he may have been able to tame and train dragons, fly across the skies on his loyal pet and lead his clan of loyal Vikings through any danger. But holding your own kid is just too much pressure!

10 After The Cauldron
With this film being considered too scary for children, despite Disney having already released things like The Mad Doctor and children being stolen, forced to turn into donkeys before being sold into slavery in Pinocchio. Plus, if people complain about their favorite books being given a disservice by filmmakers, check out how The Black Cauldron compared to the books.
Even so, I’m glad this film is kind of a cult classic these days.
It’s not the greatest thing Disney ever made, but it has its charms, with some great characters. A fan theory I like is that the Eilonwy in the films isn’t a real princess. She is a scullery maid who lied about her status to convince Talan to help her. That theory does make this image a lot sweeter. This family isn’t wealthy, maybe times are hard. But they have stories to tell and triumphs that bring them together. It is a little strange that a fully grown Eilonwy, with a teenage daughter, hasn’t changed her look since she was about twelve. I assume she grew out of the original… has she just been making herself the same dress over the decades? I suppose it’s quite sweet.

9 Smart Little Pups
The Wallace and Gromit films are some of the most important in animation history, at least for Britain. The films have won multiple awards, and, at least from my perspective, it wouldn’t be Christmas without them! We’re at a point now where we probably won’t get much more of them, so we have to cherish the ones we have. A Matter of Loaf and Death was the last Wallace and Gromit film, and the last short film before the late but great Peter Sallis retired. It was also the first film to give Gromit a love interest.
Despite Gromit and Fluffles getting together in the end, we haven’t seen Fluffles in any projects since. But maybe she didn’t feel like she had anything to contribute to World of Invention. As of now, there are no plans for any more films featuring this amazing and job changing duo, possibly out of respect for Peter Sallis. But thanks to this artist, we can see Gromit’s future. Maybe he finally retired from all the careers he started with Wallace to focus on his new family with Fluffles. It’s sad, but I’m sure everyone in their world is still well and happy. I’m sure it’s Wallace taking this picture.

8 The Birth Of Gods
I never saw the television series for Hercules, but the film is pretty amazing. Meg is one of the best Disney girls and is certainly underrated. She is blunt, she is independent and very sassy. Certainly, a great influence on those watching. She is just fun to watch!
I think Megara would make a great mother, but I’m not sure if she would be great with babies.
Babies require a lot of patience and a calm mind, that I’m sure Meg has! But when her kid gets older, when they can hold their own head up, understand speech, and be able to speak themselves, she’d be the perfect mom. She’d teach them all about how harsh the real world is, but also how wonderful some people can be, the lessons that she had learned by the end of Hercules.
Presuming that Hercules is that father, I wonder how God-like this child would be. They would live on earth as an immortal, but would they take after their father, with some of his strength and otherworldly powers. Perhaps the Gods would look down to see their grandkid. There is something very protective about the way Meg is holding her child here. It suits her well.

7 Baby Mega
I know some people who really love this film, but personally, Megamind has always raised a few eyebrows for me. Mostly that the funny blue villain just seems to get away with taking the poor librarian. What happens to him? The whole film I was just horrified, wondering what he had done to this poor guy who was just trying to do his job! Were we supposed to just not care? The whole evil guy into good guy thing is cute, but it doesn’t eliminate all the evil things he did before.
I think that’s why I find this so funny! It’s like Megamind getting the comeuppance the film never gave him.
It’s certainly not meant to be taken seriously. I do like that the kid is born with the robot fish suit on! It doesn’t make a lot of sense for Roxanne to become pregnant by a robot fish, whose suit was presumably created by his master. I doubt Megamind built in the ability for his sidekick to procreate. But I doubt a blue alien could get a human like this anyway, so the whole thing is just funny! It would certainly make an interesting sequel, but not one I think I’d want to see!
