For a not-so-low price, a 24k gold PS5 will be available for purchase potentially sometime in December.
British luxury firm Truly Exquisite has announced that they will be releasing a PS5 dubbed the “Special Limited Luxury Edition,” which will feature the PlayStation 5 in a 24K gold finish. The company has stated that they aim to release this premium PS5 around December, although it is not a guarantee.
The PS5 isn’t the only thing that will be all gold plated. The wireless controller will come in a 24k gold finish, as well as the Pulse 3D wireless headphones. It isn’t clear whether or not the gold controller and headphones will be bundled with the gold PS5, or if you can purchase these items separately. It’s also worth mentioning that there is no official price as of now, and it’s projected that these luxury PS5’s will only have about 100 units available for purchase.
In addition to the 24k gold PS5, the company has also announced that they will also be releasing luxury PS5 editions that come in 18k Rose Gold and Platinum finishes. The two additional versions will have a reduced price compared to the 24k gold version. It isn’t clear whether the controller and headphones will get a Rose Gold or Platinum finish like their golden counterparts, but it is almost certain that it will have a high price point. It should be noted that Sony hasn’t given an official statement or responded to the announcement of the luxury PS5 as of now.
For those who do not know, Truly Exquisite is a Mayfair, London-based company that hand tailors tech and other giftware with many high-end materials like 24k gold and Swarovski crystals. Some products they have customized include a series of phones, cars, and shoes, and they are open to taking orders on items. These hand-tailored products drive the base price of these items by tenfold or greater, making their products more suited towards the higher end of society.
For a majority of players, the 24k gold PS5 is only a distant dream for our wallets. Most of us are going to have to settle with the original version, although it does look good by itself, which is nothing to complain about.
