We all love Disney. Disney has been a huge part of our childhoods, our parents’ childhoods, and probably even our grandparent’s childhoods. (Man, this company has been around for a long time.) From the early days of cartoon shorts to the modern 3D movies, Disney has something everyone can enjoy. Want a classic fairy tale story? Disney has it! Want something with a more sci-fi twist? Disney’s got you! Looking for something a bit more on the creepy side? Disney is on it!
I was definitely one of those kids who grew up on Disney animated movies. Since our family didn’t get cable until I was about 11, a lot of my entertainment consisted of watching Disney movies. Movies like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King made up a big part of my childhood. And I love Disney’s newer movies like Tangled, Big Hero Six, and Moana. If Disney keeps this up, my kids will probably grow up with Disney movies too.
Part of what makes Disney so great is the wide variety of characters it has created. We have everyone such as evil villains, fearless warriors, hilarious sidekicks, and gentle peacekeepers. With all the movies Disney has done, there have been so many memorable characters to love and hate. But what would these characters be like if they were older and had a few more responsibilities? What would they be like as parents with kids of their own? Well, that’s what these artists decided to find out.
So here are 25 Disney movie characters that have been reimagined as parents! Think we missed some good characters? Make sure to let us know in the comments section below.
25 A Beautiful Family Under The Sea
It’s kind of hard imagining this rebellious teenager as a mom with a rebellious teenager of her own, but that’s pretty much what happened to Ariel. She’s one of the Disney Princesses that we actually got to see as a mother in The Little Mermaid II: Melody’s Story. And in this movie, we see an older Ariel being protective of her 12-year-old daughter. I’m getting a sense of déjà vu here. Ariel, have you learned nothing from your interaction with your own dad? I get another crazy sea witch is after your daughter, but you’re not doing Melody any favors by keeping her from the ocean.
Melody would be super excited to be a big sister.
While we have seen Ariel with her daughter, that hasn’t stopped fans from imagining Ariel and Eric having another kid. And this artist gave them a little boy named Pontus. I have to admit that this family is pretty cute, even though there’s a huge age gap between Melody and Pontus. Melody would be super excited to be a big sister. She’d probably help her mom out caring for the little boy. Do you think Pontus would love the ocean just as much as Melody does? I bet she’s the one who teaches him how to swim.

24 It’s A Pretty Wild Family
Out of all the Disney couples, I’m pretty fond of Tarzan and Jane. The two are pretty different, but they complement each other surprisingly well. Tarzan is a wild man that was raised in the jungle to be tough, but he also has a pretty easy temperament and a surprisingly gentle demeanor. Jane may be a proper young lady, but she’s got a fierce temper that puts her right at home in the jungle. I think the majority of the time, the animals would be more worried about her rather than Tarzan. Together, these two make a rather fun couple.
So how would they be as parents? Pretty awesome, I think! Their kids would get quite the well-rounded education. Jane would teach them to read, write, paint, etc., while Tarzan would have them swinging from the vines in no time. These kids would be a very interesting blend of wild and educated. I also love this artist’s rendition of the family. These three would definitely go out and do picnics. And Terk would show up because she’s definitely the honorary aunt of the family. Oh man, just imagine Terk interacting with Tarzan’s kid. Those two would probably get into so much trouble. Watch out for this kid!

23 It’s Another “Wilde” Family
Who could think of a more dynamic duo of 2015 than Nick and Judy from Zootopia? These two managed to overcome their differences and even prejudices to become partners, friends, and according to many fans, possibly something more. While I don’t know if I ship Nick and Judy (I think things could go either way for them, and I always want to see more platonic friendships between a guy and a girl), I could see them becoming an awesome couple. The two work together really well.
And they would be amazing as parents, though they probably would have different parenting styles. I could see Judy being a bit strict, but also a bit relaxed (hey, she grew up with hundreds of siblings). And Nick would be that dad that’s always taking so many pictures. I can only imagine if their kids got into trouble. Nick would probably try to be stern but fail and start laughing at whatever shenanigan they pulled, while Judy would be the furious one because how dare their kid actually break the law? I also like the idea that Fennic just comes over every now and then and becomes a type of uncle to the kids. He would probably be the one getting them into trouble in the first place. I’m sure Judy is exasperated, but she puts up with Fennic for Nick’s sake.

22 He’s A Frozen Bundle Of Joy
Elsa is a fairly unique Disney Princess for a couple of reason. She actually ends up becoming a queen in her movie so she technically isn’t even a princess, and there’s also the fact that she has supernatural powers. And let’s not forget that Elsa doesn’t end up with a love interest at the end of the movie. It’s pretty rare for one of the main heroines to not end up with someone by the end. But that hasn’t stopped fans from imagining Elsa as a mom.
Elsa would be so much better at handling her son’s powers than her parents ever were.
I absolutely love this artist’s rendition of Elsa because it’s just gorgeous and adorable. Look at her little son; he’s so happy! And it looks like he inherited some of Elsa’s power, based on the little snowflakes coming out of his hand. You can bet that Elsa would be so much better at handling her son’s powers than her parents ever were. This kid will definitely grow up not fearing his abilities. But one big question is, who is the father? Maybe Elsa marries a neighboring prince. Maybe she falls for someone in her kingdom. Or maybe she made the baby out of snow (hey, weirder things have happened, and Elsa is pretty powerful).

21 Happily Ever After Can Get Messy
You have to admit that Rapunzel and Eugene make a seriously adorable couple. Though I am glad they did wait a bit before they got married because I think Rapunzel needed a bit more time to adjust to her new world (and spend time with her parents of course). The Tangled TV series actually does a good job of showing her adjustment as well as her relationship with Eugene. Things aren’t perfect for them all the time, but they do work together to become better, and that’s really what a good relationship is.
And these two would be the best parents. Eugene’s playful nature would be great for kids and Rapunzel is just so kind and loving. And this version of them is both sweet and hilarious. Of course, Eugene would react to changing a diaper with a gas mask, partially to be funny and partially being serious. I can just imagine Rapunzel would roll her eyes at his antics. But you can bet that Eugene would be a very involved dad. The guy may be a former thief and a jokester, but he’s pretty serious about the people he cares about. He would totally be that protective dad that tells his kids “Do as I say, not as I do.”
20 Trouble Always Comes In Threes
Merida is that Disney Princess that we all wish we could be. She’s crazy good with a bow and arrow, she loves to go exploring, and the idea of being ladylike and proper just makes her want to slam her head on the table in frustration. Considering how the movie went, a lot of people probably think Merida would be completely against marriage. I don’t think she would be against it, just against the idea of not having a choice in the matter and getting married as young as she was. I think that if she met the right guy, she’d be fine with getting married and having a couple of kids.
I love the idea of Merida having triplets. Considering they run in her family, it wouldn’t be that surprising. And since she has some experience in wrangling her brothers, at least the idea of looking after three little toddlers wouldn’t be something unusual for her. I have no idea who the father would be (though a lot of people ship Merida with Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon), but hopefully, he helps her out with these little bundles of energy so she can get some rest now and then. Hang in there, Merida! You’ve got this!
19 After Everything They’ve Been Through, They Deserve This
Remember the movie The Black Cauldron? It was widely regarded as one of Disney’s worst (or best?) failures, which is kind of a shame because it’s a rather interesting movie, and I liked the animation style. (I’ll admit though that the story and the characters could’ve used a bit more work.) Plus, remember the Horned King? He was pretty terrifying, and that voice still haunts my nightmares. But at the center of this movie were the young Taran and Eilonwy. While the two didn’t get along at first, they became a couple by the end. They’re pretty entertaining as that bickering couple that cares for each other deep down.
The kid would probably fall asleep holding Gurgi like a teddy bear.
So how would these two be as parents? Pretty good! These three would probably go on some awesome adventures. And Gurgi would be around to play with the kid too, though Taran definitely wouldn’t trust him to babysit. I bet the kid would probably fall asleep holding Gurgi like a teddy bear. And Gurgi would be annoyed and want to move, but he wouldn’t dare because the kid looks so peaceful. I wonder if Taran would teach his kids how to fight with a sword, or if he decides he doesn’t want them going through the same things he went through.
18 Imagine Having A Demigod Dad
It’s a little hard to imagine Hercules with kids of his own since he often seemed like a big kid for most of the movie. The guy is rather nice and seriously strong, but he does come across as too trusting and naïve. But that’s why his relationship with the jaded Meg works so well. In many ways, Meg grounds Hercules, being practical when Hercules is idealistic. But then Hercules gives Meg hope that there are good people out there. In the end, the two are pretty nice as a couple.
I really like this artist’s version of Hercules as a dad because he looks so playful and happy. I could see this demigod having fun with his kids and wrestling. But he’d also be the gentlest guy. I wonder if any of his kids would inherit his super strength. Also, are they demigods too? I can only imagine what it would be like to raise three super strong boys. Poor Meg probably has her hands full. But Hercules would definitely teach them how to control their strength and give them tips. Let’s just hope this family doesn’t end up in the same fate Hercule’s family has in the actual Greek Mythology (spoilers: everybody perishes, like in most Greek myths).

17 She Would Be The Best Mom
Mulan was always one of my favorite Disney Princesses, probably because she defied conventions to prove herself and to save her family. But I also love that Mulan fights with not brawn, but instead relies on her ingenuity and resourcefulness. She can definitely kick your behind, but she’ll also outsmart you so that you end up losing without even realizing it. After all, she went up against Shan Yu, a man twice her size, and managed to defeat him. This lady should get all the respect.
Considering how bad she was at so many of the things that were considered women’s roles, you’d think being a mom wouldn’t suit her that well, but I think it does. Mulan has shown to be kind and rather comfortable around kids, both in the 1st and 2nd movie. She would definitely teach her kids combat. Plus, she wouldn’t really care about gender roles and probably make sure her kids know how to fight and how to make tea (both are very important skills to have). I do love this picture of her since it shows her in a pretty soft moment. I think we tend to focus a lot on the times where Mulan is tough (which are awesome moments), but she can be soft too. And it’s nice to see her holding her child and smiling.

16 He Is The Sweetest Daddy
We saw the mom, and now it’s time for the dad to shine! Shang is a pretty interesting character since he starts out striving to become like his father. But as the movie progresses, we see him slowly grow into a character that learns to rely on others and trust others, including eventually a woman, which was unheard of. (Plus, there’s that funny moment where you can tell Shang is wondering if he’s into guys. Ping was so confusing for him). Shang, in general, is an awesome guy and we’re happy he ended up with Mulan.
Shang, who is a pretty tough soldier, quietly cuddling with his baby is too cute.
So how would Shang be as a dad? Just adorable. I adore this picture of him because it captures a really quiet and sweet moment this guy probably would have with his child. The image of Shang, who is a pretty tough soldier, quietly cuddling with his baby is too cute. I could see Shang being a rather stern father, but one who always lets his kids know he loves them. He’d probably play strategy games with them and he’d definitely help Mulan in teaching his kids how to defend themselves. After all, their parents have pretty dangerous jobs; it only makes sense that the kids know how to fight all kinds of enemies.
15 It’s A Quiet Moment For This Family
I’m not ashamed to say that I’m a sucker for couples where the girl is this tough warrior who could probably end you in many ways while the guy is quite a bit less threatening. It’s a fun dynamic and I always think it’s highly entertaining. And that’s Milo and Kida. Kida is the princess of Atlantis, a warrior, and a rather powerful lady. Milo is a scholar and a linguist who doesn’t have a lot going for him in the strength department. But that’s what makes them so fun to watch. And you can feel the love they have for each other and how they find each other absolutely fascinating.
And these two would be totally amazing parents. Milo would teach his kids so many languages and all about the culture of Atlantis, something even the residents had begun to lose. Kida would be in charge of combat and all things related to the court. These kids are going to be the future kings and queens of Atlantis, after all. This picture of the three as a family is very sweet. I could see Milo, Kida, and their kid, gathered around a book Milo was reading. It’s a very quiet scene but everyone is practically radiating with content.
14 Their Kids Would Be Total Bookworms
Who doesn’t love Beauty and the Beast? This amazing movie has it all: funny characters, an intriguing plot, gorgeous animation, and beautiful music. My favorite moment in the movie is when Beast is facing off against Gaston and gets the will to fight back after seeing Belle. That part still gives me chills. And I really love these two as a couple because they’re incredibly real. They both show they’re not perfect people, but they’re willing to work together to become something better. Beast/Adam becomes kinder and gentler, while Belle starts to listen to him and see him for who he is on the inside.
These two would be wonderful parents. I can imagine Adam being nervous at first about being a dad, but everything would be fine once he held the child in his arms. He would also totally be that protective parent. Belle as a mother is just beautiful and you know she would love her kids with all her heart. She would definitely start her kids young on reading, and she would read everything to them. I could see this little family having a quiet moment in the library just surrounding a new book. I wonder if they ever told their kids about the curse and how they met? That would definitely be an interesting bedtime story.

13 This Little Family Looks So Good
You know, I think Prince Phillip gets more screen time in Sleeping Beauty than Aurora does. To be fair, he is the guy who goes up against Maleficent and fights her dragon form in order to rescue Aurora. And considering how many of the other Disney Princes were sorely lacking in any kind of development, Prince Phillip is a nice contrast. He’s kind, he’s open-minded, yet he’s fearless and determined. This guy is prime husband material. And who doesn’t love Aurora? While she didn’t get a lot of screen time, she does show to be quite charming and fun, chatting with her animal friends and singing about a dream she had.
Phillip is just owning at being a daddy.
These two as parents would be rather sweet. And I love this artist’s version of a more modern Phillip and Aurora. I love the adoring looks these two give each other. And you can tell that Phillip is just owning at being a daddy. They’d probably live in a small but charming apartment in the city and regularly go on outings with their son. You can tell this is one happy little family. Plus, Phillip with a little scruff looks very nice. I’m sure Phillip would be just as involved in the parenting process as Aurora; he strikes me as that type.

12 They’re A Pretty Cute Family
While a lot of these couples have been odd couples, Phoebus and Esmerelda are actually pretty similar in personality. Yes, they both come from very different backgrounds, but they have a bit more in common than you’d think. They’re both very snarky and a bit cocky. They both have a moral sense of justice that moves them to often defy authority. They’re both not afraid to take risks if it means protecting someone. And they’re both rather kind and caring.
Now, we know that these two do become parents and have a little boy, thanks to The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (which wasn’t a very good movie, sorry). But fans still like to draw this family together. I can imagine Esmerelda would teach her kids how to dance and how to take down multiple enemies at once. Phoebus would definitely teach them to fight with the sword and how to ride a horse. It is interesting that their kid seems to have taken most of the dad’s genes. It would’ve been cool to see a kid with more of his mother looks, but oh well. Quasimodo would totally be the cool uncle that the kid would love to hang out with (pretty sure that happens in the movie).
11 Having A Chef Mom Would Be So Cool!
Considering Tiana was all about all work and no play, I’m sure everyone was surprised when she got married to Naveen. Her friends were probably wondering when on earth she had time to even date someone. (Though Tiana and Naveen only knew each other for a few days before they fell in love, so I guess that worked.) Tiana is a pretty awesome lady; she knew what she wanted and nothing was going to get in her way. But she also learned to stop and take a look around every once in a while. Naveen is much more of a “stop and smell the roses” kind of guy, which is why I think these two make a fun couple. Naveen gets Tiana to loosen up and Tiana gets Naveen to be more serious.
I think Tiana would be an awesome mom. Though, knowing her luck, she’d have a kid who’s insanely picky, which would drive Tiana nuts. Maybe they’ll only eat her gumbo, or her beignets. (Man, now I want a beignet.) I bet her kids would have a lot of fun playing in the restaurant and helping out when they got older. Naveen would teach them how to play guitar. And of course, Tiana would teach them how to cook, though whether they’d be good at it is up in the air.
10 They’re Going to Experience A Whole New World
I’m a little surprised that Aladdin and Jasmine did get together. The two seem very different in many ways. But I guess they do have some things in common. They’re both pretty stubborn when they want to be, and they’re both not afraid to make their opinions known. But they both grew up in very different situations. And also considering that the relationship had been built on Aladdin lying about himself, it is a bit surprising that the relationship survived all of that. But the two did come through in the end. And they even get married in the third movie.
Aladdin excitedly putting his ear on Jasmine’s pregnant belly is just adorable.
I can imagine Aladdin being panicked at the idea of becoming a dad (he does talk about it in the third movie), especially considering he didn’t have much as far as parental figures go. But you know he would be excited about having kids. And I love this artist’s rendition of the expecting couple. Aladdin excitedly putting his ear on Jasmine’s pregnant belly is just adorable and you can see how much love Jasmine has for her scoundrel husband. Despite his fears, I think Aladdin would make a very fine dad. He’d be relaxed but also firm. Jasmine would be the hot-tempered mom who adores her kids, but they better watch out when they make her mad.
9 Like Father, Like Daughter
You really can’t help but like Fix-it Felix. The guy is just too nice and sweet for you to hate him. He may be a bit oblivious and his dislike of confrontation can get him into trouble sometimes, but he really means well and you can tell he cares about his game, his friends, and even the villain, Ralph. And he gets even more adorable and charming when he meets Sergeant Calhoun, whom he falls for immediately. Watching these two interact is just a joy. I think they bring out the best in each other since Felix gets Calhoun to soften up a bit, and Calhoun helps Felix to focus and take things seriously.
So how would Felix be as a dad? Oh, you know, he would absolutely rock at it. I can see Felix being insanely good around kids. He’s kind but firm, and he’s very approachable. When you’re with Felix, you can’t help but feel loved and cared for. And you can bet that he would teach his kids the way of fixing things. Though I’m not sure how two video game characters would have kids. Is that a thing that happens? How do the logistics work? Hmm, maybe I don’t want to know.

8 It’s A Truly Special Mother’s Day
Captain Amelia and Doctor Delbert Doppler are about as odd of a couple as you can get; the two are even literally a humanoid cat and a humanoid dog. And they definitely do clash at the beginning in some pretty hilarious ways. But over the course of the movie, you see how these two go from annoyed colleagues to friends to even lovers. It’s hilarious and pretty sweet too. They do bicker a lot and drive each other nuts, but when it comes down to it, you can tell they love and care about each other.
We do see these two as parents and they have four adorable little cat and puppy children. (Not sure how that works, not sure I want to know.) But this artist shows what it would be like when these kids are older. I’m not sure if Planet Montressor has a Mother’s Day, but the idea of these little scamps trying to make their mother breakfast in bed is pretty adorable. I’m not sure where Delbert is. Maybe he’s cleaning up the mess in the kitchen the kids probably made. Either way, you can tell Amelia loves her kids, even though they’re probably quite the handful.

7 The Royal Family Never Looked So Good
Anna and Kristoff make a pretty cute couple, especially since they’re pretty similar in personality. They’re both a little rough around the edges and awkward, they’re both brave, and they’re both very passionate about the things they love. Yeah, Anna is a little naïve and Kristoff comes across as a bit jaded, but you can tell they love each other. And after you go through a few harrowing life-threatening situations with someone, you can’t help but get closer to them.
And these two would be fantastic parents! You know Kristoff would be so excited to have kids and Anna would be such a loving mom. I love this picture of the family on Christmas morning. The detail on it is gorgeous and all the characters look wonderful. You can tell that everyone is super happy to be together. And of course, Aunt Elsa is there to enjoy the festivities with the family. I bet she’s incredibly popular with the kids, and they probably help her out with her residual fears of using her powers. After all the crazy things that everyone has gone through, I think they deserve some happiness. This is a family that won’t be broken apart so easily again.

6 Think This Family Eats Apples?
I’ll be honest, Snow White is probably my least favorite Disney Princess. (It’s mostly the voice; that high voice can be seriously annoying.) But the movie did change everything for Disney, and it created quite the craze. Snow White is the princess who started it all, and every Disney Princess that’s come after owes it to her. And let’s not forget the fact that the movie itself was actually pretty terrifying (that whole forest scene was something out of a nightmare).
She was helping take care of the seven dwarfs and basically being a mother to them.
It’s a little hard to imagine Snow White as a mom since she was actually fourteen in the movie. (Which makes the whole prince kissing her thing a little weird. Do we know how old Florian was?) But considering she was helping take care of the seven dwarfs and basically being a mother to them, Snow White would make a great mom. She would be that mother that’s always singing as she makes a lovely pie (not apple though. Apples are probably banned in the household.) I have no idea how Florian would be as a dad since we know virtually nothing about him. But I do like this picture of this family. It has beautiful colors and their daughter is so adorable.
