Final Fantasy is a game series that really is for anyone. How can this be? Simple. Every Final Fantasy game has its own unique story. That is unless it’s a prequel, sequel, or spin-off of one of the main 15 titles. If you consider yourself a gamer and you haven’t played a single Final Fantasy game, now is the perfect time to do so. After all, there are so many titles to choose from on a great range of consoles. Whether it’s Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation or Final Fantasy XV on PlayStation 4, I’m sure there’s a playable game for almost any console you own.
With there being so many games, it’s hard for fans to pick a favorite out of the series. However, what I’ve noticed is that most people tend to lean toward the first Final Fantasy game they ever played being their favorite. And to make the gaming experience even more enjoyable, all of the games in the series have incredible stories and well-developed characters that we can relate to in some shape or form. Even if there’s a lot of fantastical events occurring in-game, there are plenty of moments that people can look at and say, “Same.”
Maybe you’ve suffered from heartbreak. Maybe you’ve lost someone very close to you. Or maybe you’ve gone on a great adventure with some of your closest friends and crazy shenanigans ensued. I hope that some of the comics I discuss today will be somewhat relatable in some shape or form.
25 Teleportation Is Key
I’ll be honest, there are quite a few fan arts from XV in this story because it’s the most recent game in the series. And for a lot of gamers, Final Fantasy XV was the very first game in the franchise that they played. In this comic, Noctis calls out to Prompto and Ignis in order to warn them to watch their step.
However, this warning is of no help. With a single step, Noct breaks the flooring underneath them, causing the three to fall and hurt themselves. Noctis then tries to play this off like it’s nothing and sarcastically says, “If only I could teleport or something.” The joke here is that, due to his royal power, he can teleport by using a variety of weapons to get from one place to the next.
Ignis looks so unfazed by all this, like an angry parent who just continues trekking on because he has to look out for two of the biggest dorks. Although I must say, it must be pretty bad if even Prompto is cursing at you under his breath. Way to go, your royal highness. You should feel so proud of yourself and everything you’ve done for yourself and the Chocobros.

24 Paradigm Shift
So there’s only so much I know regarding the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. But here it goes. In the first game, Snow and Serah are recently engaged. Serah tries to figure out the best way to tell her sister, Lightning, that she has been turned into a l’Cie. That’s the equivalent of a cursed human who is granted great power, only to be forced to obey the gods’ will. If they fail to do so, they become monsters.
Noel is a character that appears in the second game, and due to the amount of time he actually spends with Serah, there are a lot of people who ship Noel x Serah.
So this comic pokes fun at that with the name “Paradigm Shift: Love Triangle.” This is assuming that Serah has feelings for both Snow and Noel.
Seeking an explanation, Snow threatens Noel and asks him to explain. Serah attempts to calm down her fiancé but to no avail. Meanwhile, poor Mog is just sitting there speechless, unsure of what to do. Personally, I think both are fitting matches for Serah. But sorry, Noel. Snow did get there first, after all. You’re behind on the times. Was that a pun?

23 Final Fantasy Therapy Session
This is definitely one of my favorite comics on this list because all Final Fantasy characters need therapy. And I mean that in as positive a way as possible. The Final Fantasy franchise is known for having the most interesting of stories, with many characters experiencing trauma that’s very difficult to forget and overcome.
So with this comic, the protagonists from VII, VIII, IX, and X decide to all see the same therapist. Cloud talks about how he hears weird voices in his head that tell him to complete tasks that he doesn’t want to do. As bad as it sounds, Squall is known for being extremely indifferent about everything, with his trademark word being “whatever.” There’s a lot of fans out there who call him the emo of the Final Fantasy protagonists.
Yes, Zidane is very mischievous and curious, so I think at this point, he’s allowed to ask questions about his tail. As for Tidus, well, don’t even get me started on the whole “Tidus is a dream” theories regarding Final Fantasy X. And are we supposed to assume that Tidus is doing something weird while at the therapist? That poor, old man. He looks so done for the day.
22 Final Fantasy: Delusions
So this comic is more or less accurate regarding some of the main characters in the Final Fantasy franchise. Oh, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts is there, too. Snow would think he’s the hero, because he just has that happy-go-lucky attitude. Although let’s be real, Lightning is significantly better. Vaan is important to the storyline of XII, but you’d be surprised just how much of the story actually revolves around other characters, especially Ashe. I mean, would there really be a plot if Ashe got to live happily ever after?
As for Tidus? Once again, do not get me started on dream theories. That’s not what I’m here for. Squall’s line really fits his character. However, with how many friends he has and heck, even a beautiful woman who has a major crush on him, he’s far from alone.
We’re all familiar with Cloud and the perceptions he has. He thinks he’s Zack, his best friend, who perished protecting him. And honestly, VI really doesn’t have a main character. Sure, Terra’s become the poster child for the game, but there isn’t really a set protagonist for it. And Sora? You’ll be cooler once KingdomHeartsIII comes out.
21 Oh, Hi Potion
With the majority of Final Fantasy games, each one typically has a lot of elements that are familiar with each game. Summons like Bahamut and Ifrit are fairly common in each game entry. This also goes for items like potions and Phoenix Downs. With those magical feathers, though, I guess it’s pretty selective of who they want to revive. Sorry, but if the game writers want you deceased… they want you deceased.
This comic plays around with the concept of a Hi-Potion actually having the ability to speak. Hearing an item like this speak is pretty spooky, and even Noct seems really startled. After all, how is one supposed to even think about recovering with a potion now that it has a super kawaii face and the ability to speak?
Thankfully, this is just a comic, and Hi-Potions can’t speak. Speaking of potions though, I really wonder what one would actually taste like. Do they taste as delicious as fruit punch or are they absolutely disgusting? Unfortunately, I feel that this is a question that will forever remain unanswered. And what if this is all the Hi-Potion can say? Can it just say hi? Or has it evolved so much that it has its own language?

20 Master Thief
In Final Fantasy VI, Locke is a master thief. Oh, did I say that out loud? My bad, I meant to say “treasure hunter.” Of course, Locke Cole is in the thief class, so he’s really good at taking items from enemies. He also can equip special gear that attacks enemies when stealing.
So this comic is poking fun at how Locke doesn’t like to be called a thief.
He’s easily angered when somebody asks him how the “robbing and plundering trade” is going. I mean, not to take the old man’s side or anything, but I do think Locke is far from being considered a treasure hunter. After all, he does steal items from enemies and monsters while in battle. To me, that’s stealing, no matter who it is.
It really makes me wonder what Locke will be like in the newest Dissidia game. Will he get just as easily upset like in this comic whenever somebody calls him a thief? Or is he just going to stay neutral on the matter and not say anything? Also, let’s just take some time to discuss how amazing Locke looks. Let there be more cosplays of this amazing character. Thank you.
19 Girls’ Worst Dream
If you identify as a female, can you imagine what it would be like to go through some of the experiences main leading ladies have had to deal with? Terra from VI was pretty much brainwashed and used for evil purposes. Luna was destined to perish at a young age, but Ardyn ended up hitting her anyway.
Okay, but for some reason, everyone thinks it’s really weird that Zidane has a monkey tail. We’ve seen a lot of weirder things in the Final Fantasy franchise. How is this any different? I guess, if you’re Princess Garnet, you have a really hard time believing that it’s real. Yes, much to your dismay, the tail is very much real.
Sorry, Aerith, but like I was mentioning earlier: if a writer is set on making sure you don’t live through the next chapter, there’s no Phoenix Down for you. I know there’s absolutely no logic in that, but there it is. And poor Yuna. She probably has Tidus’ odd laugh ring throughout her nightmares. After hearing something like that, who wouldn’t? Side note: do not listen to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack featuring Tidus’ laugh before you go to bed. You will regret it.

18 The Secret Recipe
We all know that Ignis from Final Fantasy XV was, and still is, a popular meme due to the number of times he says “I’ve come up with a new recipe!” He’s the party member who cooks for everybody, preparing the most delicious of meals and learning how to cook even more delicious options upon reading cookbooks discovered at various stores.
But could you imagine if Plankton from SpongeBob SquarePants found a way to transport Ignis to Bikini Bottom just so he could deeply study the Krabby Patty and re-create it? However, I’m not exactly sure how well this plan would work out. First off, how would Iggy be able to eat the sandwich? How would that be even possible? I guess in this case, it’s a kids’ cartoon, so logic doesn’t matter here.
Second, I’m sure Ignis is fully aware that this Plankton character is quite evil, even though all he wants is to have a successful restaurant. Is that too much to ask for? Maybe Ignis could end all competition for The Krusty Krab by stepping on Plankton? That sounds pretty harsh, but hey, it would work. Oh. And I’m pretty sure he can’t write underwater?
17 Aerith Lives DLC? Sold!
I believe that one of the big reasons why Final Fantasy VII is as popular as it is is because of Aerith’s demise. It just came as such a huge shock to Final Fantasy fans and gamers alike. For its time, it was really groundbreaking, as she was one of the first characters in video game history to be so well-developed, only to end up being ended.
But with the upcoming remake, what if Square Enix decided to make “Aerith Lives” DLC available to players? What if you had the opportunity to keep Aerith alive and actually have the opportunity to finish the game with this sweet and innocent woman at your side?
I’d say this comic is a very accurate representation of what the Square Enix financial department would look like if this DLC existed.
However, I think it’s safe to say that this content will never exist. Aerith’s demise is extremely important to the plot, and heck, without her passing, and Zack’s, there really wouldn’t be a point in Advent Children. Cloud wouldn’t be able to go off and brood all alone on his motorcycle if Zack and Aerith were still alive. After all, him overcoming all of his demons is pretty much the main point of that movie.

16 A Lesson Or Three
If you’re playing a game with a good moral behind it; or if it has a very linear and exciting story, there’s a very good chance that you’ll walk away from the “game complete” screen with some type of lesson in mind. Whether it’s something trivial like how to brush your teeth, or some valuable life lesson that you’ll take into consideration from here on, video games can be very beneficial in the long run.
As this hilarious comic shows, you can learn a wide variety of techniques, such as fire safety, gardening, driver’s education, and first aid. Remember kids, all of these life lessons are very important, especially first aid. However, unless you’re Aerith or Luna, Phoenix Downs are non-existent for you. Sorry.
I must admit that the gardening panel of this comic is really accurate. I hate Cactuars and Tonberries, so if I were to see one in real life, I’d gladly take up a Buster Sword and go smite them. Also, regarding first aid, this panel isn’t really helpful. First off, phoenixes don’t exist. I’m sorry. Second, no matter what bird you pull it from, no feather can fix up your friend’s wound. Once again, I’m sorry.

15 Hairstyles Are Important
When Final Fantasy XV was still in its development stages, people always commented on the boys’ hairstyles. They all look like boy band members. And hey, the final character concepts still are members of a boy band, minus the fact that Cor Leonis was made out to be this major character when he’s really not.
Because of this boy band stereotype, a lot of people made jokes about the four party members needing a lot of hairspray for their unique up-dos. It still cracks me up whenever I play XV since there’s a special type of item you can buy to keep the guys’ hair flawless, even in the rain. Yes, I bought it. Who wouldn’t? That’s hilarious.
Now I’m not sure if they would actually need this much hairspray, but who actually knows just how much they use on a daily basis. I’m sure it’s quite a bit. It scares me to think that Noctis might use more hairspray than Lunafreya does. And to even think about what Prompto, Iggy, Noct, and Gladio would look like without their hairstyles scares me. Where would they be without hairspray? How would they look? Would they still have that boy band aesthetic going for them?
14 Accuracy In Gil
It’s both funny and sad how accurate this is. Sure, this comic might show Zidane, but it’s true for any Final Fantasy game you play. There’ll be many instances where you’ll enter an inn to spend the night and it’ll be relatively inexpensive for you to stay there. And if you explore the right places, odds are you’ll find a treasure chest with a lot of gil, or money, in it.
Now taking from that chest might really make you wonder if finding the money was pure luck, or if you’re robbing the innkeeper without realizing it. Another way to view this comic is Zidane is a thief. He steals plenty of things, so it comes as no surprise that he would do the same here.
With most Final Fantasy games, inns are very cheap to stay in. Of course, there are plenty of luxury hotels you can stay at, but that costs a lot of gil. It sure helps to have a thief in your party that can steal things and help you recover that spent gil a lot quicker. But here’s a life lesson: no matter what the thief class might tell you, stealing is wrong. Don’t do it.

13 Attack Of The Tonberry
How perfect. I was just talking about you, dear creepy Tonberry. I hate Tonberries so much, and all for good reason. Sure, they might appear to be adorable, with their cloaks and cute lizard faces. But they always carry a lantern and a knife. I don’t think it gets any scarier than that.
Not to be that person or anything, but this Chocobo-loving person probably didn’t make it out of that woods alive. Tonberries are ruthless. Once you’re in a battle with them, it’s extremely difficult to get out of it. I always do my best to avoid fighting them at all costs, so when it comes to tasks or missions requiring you to eliminate Tonberries, I dread it with every nerve of my being.
And can you imagine if Tonberries were real?
The woods would never be safe again. You could never look a chameleon in the eye again, in fear that it might turn into a Tonberry. Whoever came up with the concept of Tonberries is both a genius and madman. Talk about a great way of striking fear in the hearts of gamers, by creating something so oddly cute it comes as a big surprise when it hits you.
12 Final Fantasy Rage
So let’s think about what it would be like for two of the coolest characters in the Final Fantasy franchise to throw some punches at each other. Tifa Lockhart from VII and Zell from VIII both focus on hand-to-hand combat. And in this comic, the author imagines what it would be like if the two were thrown in a ring against one another.
However, due to her figure, Zell becomes extremely distracted, sustaining a nosebleed and dropping to his knees because he’s so attracted to her. Tifa becomes very frustrated by this and punches him, calling him a creep. In the end, Tifa wins the match, surprising nobody.
Sorry people, but if you’re going to get distracted by something like your opponent’s physical appearance, you need to get some priorities straightened out. Remember that there’s more to looks than meets at the eye. If you think that somebody can’t beat you up because they’re a woman or they appear weak in stature, you’d be absolutely surprised just how wrong you are. Poor Zell. Squall is probably watching this fight somewhere in the stands, shaking his head and saying, “Whatever.” And go, Tifa! Show Zell who’s boss.

11 Jecht Shot
I was really debating whether or not to share this comic, but I found it necessary for a lot of reasons. After all, I’m sure there’s been plenty of times where you’ve walked in on someone, whether it’s your parents, sibling or friend, doing something that you probably didn’t want to see. And by that, I do mean grown-up stuff.
In this comic, Jecht from Final Fantasy X discusses how he should record a message for his wife and Tidus, his son. Tidus opens the message his father sends, but notices too late that it was for his mother. He then proceeds to watch Jecht remove his shorts as he prepares for his Jecht Shot. I am not going to elaborate on that any further, because if your mind is in the gutter on a daily basis, then I’m sure you’re aware of what’s going to happen next.
Whatever you do, don’t be that person who sends recordings like this, even if you believe that only your significant other will see it. You’d be surprised just who could access any technological device and see something that you might not want shown off to the world. So just save the intimate stuff for the bedroom and bedroom only, okay?
Comic by K009.
10 Whatever
Like I was mentioning earlier, Squall from Final Fantasy VIII has a very so-so personality. He tends to stay pretty quiet and usually responds with “whatever” to nearly any question he’s asked. Squall is indifferent and believes that he’s so alone, even though he has a lot of devoted friends and even a gorgeous woman who has a pretty big crush on him.
Here, a character decides to interview Squall, thinking that he’ll somehow be able to get new information out of him to give the character more personality. When asked what his favorite type of food is, Squall responds with, “Whatever.” When asked a “yes” or “no” question regarding if he enjoys dancing, he once again states the same response.
At this point, the interviewer gets fed up two questions in and attempts to leave, but Squall laughs, stating that it was all a joke and that he was just messing with him. Okay Squall, but your actual personality in-game says otherwise. It’s no wonder that when it comes to people saying who their favorite Final Fantasy protagonist is, most of the time it’s not you. Your personality is quite bland and you have a somewhat twisted perspective on what friendship truly is.
9 New Recipe
We all know that XV has a lot of memes surrounding it regarding food. First off, all the meals in-game look so real it’s scary. It almost looks like the game developers took pictures of actual food and used it, but they didn’t. It’s all animated. Second, there’s an actual unofficial cookbook that gives you instructions on how to make every single dish Ignis has cooked up. Yes, that includes the piece of toast. It gives instructions for that.
In this comic, Noctis complains about how he’s exhausted and wants to call it a night. Ignis reminds the young prince that having a healthy and balanced diet is very important and that they should eat before bedtime. Noctis agrees to this and asks Ignis what he’s making. With a snap of his fingers, Ignis reveals pizza.
Now could you imagine Ignis making pizza? I don’t think he’d ever allow Noct to eat pizza unless it was covered in vegetables. Ignis seems like one of those people who’s a bit of a health freak, so I can’t even see him making a pizza. But hey, this comic is pretty hilarious because it gives us a “taste” of what Ignis would be like if he wasn’t as strict of a retainer.

8 Stop Swooning
In this comic related to Final Fantasy VI, Locke and Edgar are shown swooning over Terra, causing her to burst into giggles as they both collapse to the ground. “What a smile!” and “So cute!” are both fitting descriptions of what Terra Branford is as a person. She’s very sweet and kind, even though she has a pretty troubling past.
That, and if I remember correctly, Locke tends to be very protective of the women in the party, which also includes Celes. Yeah, Locke. Go spend time swooning over Celes, not Terra. Personally, I’ve always kind of been that person who views Terra as a single woman.
I’d have absolutely nothing against her being put into a relationship, but I also can’t really see her being in one.
Although, since Locke was put into the new Dissidia game, it really makes me wonder if deep down, Square Enix is set on putting Terra and Locke together. I guess that’s okay, but once again, I think Terra would be just fine on her own. Man, now I really hope that Final Fantasy VI gets a new remake because it’s highly deserving of one. It’s a fantastic game, so if you haven’t played it yet, I recommend you do so.
7 Is This The Gist?
Well, from what I’ve seen of Final Fantasy XIII playthroughs, I can definitely say that this comic is over-exaggerated. Yes, both Snow and Lightning are very concerned about the fact that Serah has turned into a l’Cie. But even when she’s transformed, Serah doesn’t push her loved ones. Rather, she just comes to accept it, even though she’s a bit scared to find the courage to tell her older sister.
Although, now that I think about it, maybe this representation of Snow isn’t too far away from being accurate. He’s extremely devoted to Serah, and because of this, he really tends to let his love for her distract him from other current issues that are going on around him.
However, I don’t know if this person had to go as far as to punch the television. You’d get surgery over a relationship in XIII? Alright then. Personally, I think Serah and Snow have a cute relationship. They’re both madly in love with each other and would do anything to help one another out. But, parody exists for a reason. This is indeed an over-exaggeration of the relationship, so don’t let that turn you away from playing the game.
Comic by Dilly-Oh.
6 Spiran Idol
The same interviewer we saw earlier with Squall has decided to interview one of the coolest girls in the Final Fantasy franchise. Yuna from Final Fantasy X is a very strong and powerful woman. She’s very focused on her spiritual mission, and because of her devotion, I really admire her as a video game character.
In this comic, the interviewer tells Yuna that she’s one of his favorite RPG girls. Yuna tells the interviewer that she notices that he doesn’t get a lot of many female interviewees on the show. He gets a bit starstruck by the fact Yuna actually watches his show. Yuna then prepares to leave, much to the shock of the interviewer.
She says that she’s leaving for tryouts and is shown going to “Spiran Idol Auditions.” Of course, this alludes to Final Fantasy X-2, the sequel to X where Yuna sings and also wears a much sultrier outfit than she does in the first game. It’s an interesting game, but it’s a good one to play if you were in any way confused by the ending of X. Also, there’s Paine. By that, I mean the character. She’s fantastic, so I highly recommend playing X-2.
