Godfall has been released on the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows, and with its debut, there is a new opportunity for players to jump into the looter genre of video games. With satisfying combat that is easy to pick up, Godfall can be deceptively challenging its latter phases.
This PS5 launch title doesn’t truly reveal the depth of its combat and challenge until after the campaign reaches its conclusion. Therefore, those interested in mastering this fresh franchise will need to take note of several key bits of information on their way to become the strongest Aperion in all of Godfall.
9 Reach Max Level
Godfall is centered around the idea of procuring improved loot. A constant hunt for better weapons and accessories fuels progression in this looter-slasher. While the temptation to fixate on equipment can be tempting early on in the game, it is best to focus more on experience at this stage.
Gear in Godfall continuously improves until the max level is reached. This means a legendary at level 20 would pale in comparison to a common at level 40. Any serious loot-hunting should wait until hitting level 50. While it’s important to use the best gear available at the time, sweating weapon rarity is inconsequential until the end game.
8 Choose The Valorplate That Best Suits You
At the beginning of Godfall, players are immediately spawned in with the Silvermane Valorplate. While this armor is a solid starter set, finding the armor that best fits a specific playstyle will starkly improve performance. After playing several campaign missions, the option to craft one of the 11 other armor sets is introduced.
Each Valorplate comes with a unique Archon Fury and a few set bonuses. Armistice, for example, deals more breach damage than other Valorplates. Experimenting with the 12 separate Valorplates is essential to finding what best suits separate situations and users.
7 Optimize Your Augments
Armor can be further customized with the use of Augments. Augments afford passive buffs and enhancements to armor that immediately take effect when equipped. To perfect Valorplates in Godfall, proper use of these modifiers is quintessential. The rarer the Augment, the better bonuses it applies to the user.
The more powerful enhancements take more energy to use, and with only 100 power up for grabs, slotting the rarest buffs may not be the best way to use power efficiently. Finding a way to make good use of the 100 power available for Augment allotment is yet another challenge that Aperions will face.
6 Prioritize Legendary Gear
Apart from Augments, legendary gear has no equipping restriction unlike other games in the looter genre. This means that Valorplates can be kitted out entirely with legendary armor if they have the gear available.
Not only does legendary gear often possess improved DPS, but it often comes with Primary and Secondary passive character buffs. These will further improve combat effectiveness when facing difficult enemies. Yet another bonus of the rarest form of gear in Godfall is the ability to upgrade it significantly, improving it far beyond its initial damage output.
5 Fight Overworld Minibosses For Upgrade Resources
Prioritizing resource management is key in this next-generation looter-slasher. These resources are used to upgrade weapons and gear. Many of these resources are found in the overworld’s open segments. Some materials even grant access to the game’s story and endgame experiences.
A simple way to acquire these materials is by completing Godfall’s Hunt Missions. These side activities, which center around mini-bosses, reward those who complete them with said materials and often contain loot chests hidden within them.
4 Upgrade Your Legendary Gear
Legendary gear is phenomenal on its own, but one benefit of the most powerful equipment in the game is the ability to improve it further. With the right resources available, upgrades can be crafted to weapons, and they can see improved DPS as a direct result of this.
With several separate upgrade categories available, each requiring a sizable amount of resources, it is important to stay stocked up with these items, as they will inevitably be needed to make Aperion weaponry even stronger. Those interested in challenging more powerful foes will undoubtedly require these improvements.
3 Choose Your Best Melee Weapon Set
Over the course of Godfall, there are several separate weapon types that Aperions can get their hands on. Long swords, greatswords, dual blades, polearms, and war hammers make up the arsenal in Godfall. Each weapon has its own style, attacks, techniques, and strengths.
For example, war hammers deal massive damage, but are slow and leave the attacker open during a swing. Through the process of trial and error, players can discover which weapons best suit their playstyle and compliment their Valorplate. Two weapons can be equipped at any given time, so having gear suited for different situations is advised.
2 Complete Dreamstones
Once the main campaign of Godfall is completed, new content is unlocked for those seeking a more difficult task. Dreamstones present randomized battles with the chance of obtaining high ranking gear. After tackling two rounds, the boss of the Dreamstone will appear.
While they are encounters from the base game, they are far tougher this time around. Dealing more damage and offering less room for error, these enemies require a mastery of the game’s mechanics. Because these upgraded versions of bosses are so difficult, it is recommended that players grab a few other Aperions to help them tackle this challenge.
1 Ascended Tower Of Trials
Once all 18 of the Dreamstones have been completed, an even greater trial awaits. The toughest content in Godfall lies in the Ascended Tower of Trials, the penultimate challenge in the game that also nets the most desirable rewards. In this scenario, warriors ascend the Tower of Trials endlessly, fighting tougher enemies on each floor.
Once defeated, players are transported out of the Tower of Trials. These trials are not free, however, costing 20 Valor coins per attempt. Players should consider grabbing several other high-leveled Aperions if they plan to get the most out of this daunting dungeon.
