A quartet of arcade games from Data East is coming to the Nintendo Switch, and one of them is particularly special.

Hamster revealed in their latest livestream that they’re bringing four classic Data East arcade games to the Nintendo Switch and PS4 as part of their never-ending quest to preserve and protect retro-gaming while simultaneously bringing these old games to a new audience.

Their latest ports include Burger Time and Burnin’ Rubber from 1982. The first is a platformer along the same lines as Donkey Kong, while the second is a top-down racing game. Third on the list is Darwin 4078, an obscure top-down shoot-‘em-up, and fourth is a classic arcade title from 1989 called Trio The Punch – Never Forget Me….

If you’ve never seen Trio The Punch, it’s… weird. It presents as a standard side-scrolling beat-’em-up, but you can often beat the level in less than a minute. At one point you take on a boss that’s a sheep, and then the next level you become a sheep.

Those looking to get their hands on these games might have to wait a while. Japan’s Rating Board CERB has been closed due to the coronavirus and no new games are getting approved at this time. It might be some weeks before we see Trio The Punch on the Nintendo eShop.
