Board and tabletop game publishers CMON and Artipia Games have announced that the alien invasion defense board game Project: ELITE, a real-time action game where we must defend our planet from an invading horde of aliens. is now available for retail sale. The game is priced at $99.99 and available now from the Asmodee webstore or from your FLGS.
Project: ELITE has finally hit retail after a successful Kickstarter campaign back in near the end of 2018. The game was funded in only 32 minutes, and ended its campaign with over $630,000 (of a $100,000 goal) and over 5,000 backers. This version of the game is a re-boot of the original Artipia Games Project: ELITE from 2016.
Project: ELITE has an app (for that) to go along with the game. The Project: ELITE companion app includes an Action Phase round timer and tracker, as well as seven musical audio tracks to match with the games’ maps. The companion app is only available for smartphones and tablets, and can be found on the Apple Store and Google Play.
In Project: ELITE, we are the elite, heroes assigned the project of alien butt-whooping after they invade Earth. Instead of each side taking turns to make their actions, ELITE uses a real-time system where each round is two minutes, and we roll Action dice to move and attack across the game board. If any Action dice turn up the Alien Face side during our rolls, then the aliens also make their attack and movements. The companion app’s timer counts down each two-minute round, making the rounds engaging and intense as we attempt to halt the alien invasion and either destroy them, or get them to leave our space rock alone.
ELITE comes with an abundance of game goodies in the box, including 59 ELITE and alien miniatures, 148 cards, 18 Hit dice and 24 Action dice, 108 cardboard tokens, a double-sided game board, rulebook, and more. ELITE also comes with rules for three difficulty levels of play - Easy, Medium, and Hard - as well as single-player rules.
