Sony has given no indication that the PS5 price will be announced at the game reveal event today. The event is expected to focus almost entirely on upcoming PS5 games, specifically titles that will be available for the PS5 at launch or within the next-generation console’s launch window. The presentation is over an hour long and will definitely have a lot of exciting PS5 announcements, even if the console’s price isn’t one of them.

A more likely scenario is that Sony will hold off on revealing the PS5 price until later this summer. This would likely include the PS5 release date announcement as well, and would also be when PS5 pre-orders would open to the public. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s possible that Sony still isn’t completely certain of the PS5 release date itself, and it wouldn’t want to announce a date just to end up delaying it.

Plus, Sony hasn’t even shown off the PS5 console design yet. Again, that’s something else that could be shown today, but with today’s event focusing on games, one has to imagine that the PS5 console design, the price, and release date announcements will come at some point later on instead.

Whatever the case may be, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out. The PS5 game reveal event will take place in a matter of hours, at 1pm PT, and whatever Sony has in store will be revealed to the world.
