It’s no secret that Among Us blew up in the best possible way. For a good long while, the gaming community was heavily affected by the craze that came with the incredibly engaging gameplay of this title, which has been around since 2018. Turns out that games only need a simple and solid concept, rather than the best graphics, in order to be great.

Among Us has been so incredibly successful partly due to the hilarious interactions that are bound to ensue between players. Folks accusing one another, pleading for their innocence, and plotting to wipe out an entire crew — Among Us is at its best when we consider all the hilarious aspects that construct its gameplay, especially the Imposters.

10 The Self-Reporter

The classic way to divert attention from you, if you are the Imposter, is to self-report. It’s best to do this after venting away from the crime scene and walking back to it, this way other crew members can confirm seeing you elsewhere and not in proximity of a dead body.

Sometimes you don’t have the luxury to do all that, so you have to pull a pretty convincing and theatrical act to get away with it. Make sure you are wearing a good costume for it. Nothing sums it up best than this SpongeBob scene.

9 Not This Again

This is one of the most annoying things that can happen while playing as the Imposter. Getting into those unlucky lobbies where some Crewmates are using the power of voice calls to rat you out can be frustrating. You might be doing incredibly well, up until someone decides to spoil the fun by essentially cheating.

It would be far too easy if Ghosts had the power to communicate with Crewmates and reveal the identity of the Imposter. Then, both Imposters could be eliminated within the first two Emergency Meetings in a game. It’s all right to talk with friends on Skype or elsewhere while you play together, just don’t spoil the fun for the other players.

8 The Inquisitive Imposter

The best way to clear your name is to make it seem like you care about finding the Imposter. This applies to Crewmates as well. Should you find yourself playing as the Imposter, it is imperative you always contribute to the conversation and keep up a clever cycle of lies that will confuse and deceive the team.

Expert Imposters avoid self-reporting multiple times within a single game, and get creative in how they cover their tracks, maybe as they walk alongside their trusty pet. But one thing must always happen: they have to ask where the body was found.

7 Play The Part

Take your time whenever you are the Imposter. Avoid rushing from room to room, looking for potential victims. Think about the conversations that will ensure during Emergency Meetings. Can someone confirm seeing you do something? Or have you just been running around the entire time?

One of the best ways to divert attention from yourself is to go stand in front of a task’s minigame, and do nothing. Chances are, someone will walk into the room to do that same task, and if there is a vent nearby you can almost certainly get away with murder.

6 F In The Chat

There is something unique about James Franco’s face that perfectly illustrates what it’s like witnessing this happen to you. We all made this face after getting killed by the Imposter and seeing them play dumb.

We wish we could say “well played,” but then again we can’t help but make that scoffing face. The only thing going through our minds is the hope that some crew member is smart enough to open a serious investigation into the Imposter and vote them out.

5 Voted Best Toothpaste By 9/10 Dentists

It’s surprising to see the various applications of Among Us memes in real life. Unfortunately for every toothpaste ever, there will always be that one dentist somewhere who will not recommend it to someone.

Is this part of the Illuminati’s plot to control society? Or is it a secret law of quantum physics that the universe must abide by? Either way, there will always be one Imposter among the dentists’ community. If you find the toothpaste recommended by 10 out of 10 professionals, you might have the equivalent of the Internet’s holy grail.

4 Crossover Time

Who would have thought that the astronaut template would make for such a good Among Us meme? If you played enough matches, you probably came across players with rather ingenious names. Sometimes you might even end up in a lobby full of people named after colors that mismatch their skin, just to add to the hilarious confusion of the game.

The very best moments come when certain players are expelled, though. If you often end up playing as a Crewmate, you might want to change your name to “I told you I” for extra comedic effect, should you get ejected. This meme looks like a weird easter egg from the game itself.

3 Fancy Seeing You Here

You wish you could say something to the other Imposter when this happens. Maybe tip your hat, or simply wink at them. The best Among Us Imposters play using some high IQ strategies that often rely on Crewmates making an hilarious mess of things, ejecting each other until they can easily be picked off.

It’s always good to run into a fellow Imposter, though it may be a little suspicious if you stick by them for the entire game and no Crewmate can confirm your alibi.

2 Happened To All Of Us

Unfortunately, playing as the Imposter has a much more steep learning curve to it. At first it seems easy enough, especially after repeatedly getting killed, but then you start to realize how intense it can get. Becoming the most cunning killer on the ship will require some trial and error, don’t expect to go into it the first few times and get a win.

However, you might get incredibly lucky while venting into a room precisely before someone walks in it, clearing all suspicion around you if someone finds a body you recently made quick work of.

1 You Fell Into My Trap

Offense is the best defense, and defense is the best offense. Whatever that means, always play this card if you are getting randomly accused. You will do your team a great favor and ensure that the Imposter is ejected in any case, even if you are somehow voted out.

This meme shows exactly why it’s a terrible idea for Imposters to directly accuse Crewmates. Instead, if you happen to want to create a little chaos in the game, start wasting the team’s time by asking everyone what their alibi is — there is only so much time to vote someone out, and if you can divert attention away from you, that’s half the battle in your pocket.
