There are new colors coming to Among Us. Innersloth has been advertising a big update coming to the game on June 10 as part of Summer Game Fest that will expand Among Us palette with several new colors, including Rose, Gray, and now, Tan.
Although, personally, I’m seeing a lot of overlap between Tan and Gray here, which is a bit ironic since Tan was originally created to help with colorblind players.
As revealed on the Among Us wiki (yes, there’s an Among Us wiki), Tan was first conceived back in April 2019 as a unique option for colorblind players. Tan was publicly revealed in August 2019 as part of the Polus dev stream but was sadly cut from the game in favor of Lime, which got to be the 12th color. Tan was instead turned into an emoji for the Among Us Discord as an inside joke and has since made a few appearances in achievements and other media.
But now, Tan is making its triumphant return as the next best bean. Expect Tan to arrive with several other color options as the game expands to 15 player lobbies.
Innersloth isn’t the only developer with big announcements coming for Summer Game Fest. Devolver Digital casually mentioned four new games will be revealed for the event, along with updates to Phantom Abyss, Death’s Door, and Shadow Warrior 3. Koch Media is also getting in on the action with Koch Primetime Gaming Stream, which will start on June 11 at 3 PM EST (noon PST). Koch didn’t say how many games they planned to reveal, but Saints Row 5 might be a good way to make a summer splash.
In other Among Us news, there’s a chicken nugget that bears a passing resemblance to a crewmate that just passed $100,000 on eBay. What a weird fanbase that game has.
