One fun feature in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is being able to see and make a wish on a shooting star. On clear nights, there can be stars in the sky and occasionally, Isabelle will announce in her daily news that there will be a meteor shower that night, meaning there will be even more shooting stars than usual. Wishing on these stars will get the player Star Fragments which can be used in the DIY recipes Celeste gives players.
Many players have been inspired by this event and decorated a section of their island to be a stargazing area. Some players have used furniture that they’ve made with Celeste’s DIY recipes while others have taken a different route for their stargazing area, but all of them are totally out of this world.
10 Aliens Welcome
This player took a corner cliff on their island and made it into a small, simple stargazing area. They used a custom design on a signpost to welcome aliens to visit their island and used another custom design to put down a blanket.
A stack of documents, a few Star Fragments, and some scattered papers decorate the ground around the telescope.
9 Overgrown And Natural
This stargazing area is one that is slightly more natural and overgrown. It’s situated next to a river and has four crescent moon chairs, a DIY recipe that can be given by Celeste when she visits a player’s island, and a ton of flowers all over the place.
There are custom paths on the ground to add to the ethereal feeling of this stargazing area.
8 Celeste Approved
This stargazing area is a simple one, but it’s obvious that Celeste definitely approves! It is located on a cliff that has a stone incline leading directly up to it. A stone path has been paid out in the shape of a heart with a few flowers and fossils decorating the area.
This stargazing area is proof that a player doesn’t have to use a ton of items or dedicate a huge section of their island to their area for it to look nice.
7 A Moonlit Path
This stargazing area used the terraforming tools to really create a unique, moonlit path. This player created cliffs on either side of the path with a waterfall and put paths into circles all the way between them.
The player also put up some pieces of art, some mushroom DIY items, and some of Celeste’s star and space-themed DIY items to decorate.
6 Floral & Celestial
Here’s a stargazing area that is a fairly simple one. It has minimal items but has a ton of flowers and custom codes on the ground to make it feel totally magical.
This area uses a moon chair and a couple of nova lights from Celeste’s DIYs that she can give the players, as well as a telescope. Along with those items, there are a ton of custom codes on the ground and various colored flowers and bushes.
5 Right On The Ocean
One of the few things that can’t be changed about a player’s island is the rocks that are all around the island. Some of them have completely flat areas of rocks while others have piles of rocks and players have been super creative about decorating them.
This player used this flat rock area that goes out into the ocean to put some furniture down to create a camping and stargazing area. Between the campfire with marshmallows, the telescope, and the custom code making a blanket on the ground, this would be the perfect place to watch the shooting stars.
4 Space-Themed Beach
This player used the rocks on their beach to create an astronomer’s dream area to stargaze and study the sky.
This player put some custom codes on the beach and placed a few of Celeste’s DIY furniture items and Star Fragments on the ground to decorate along with a table and books that were purchased from Nook’s Cranny.
3 A Stargazing Seating Area
This player used the terraforming tools to create matching waterfalls on either side of this simple seating area. This area is a more simple one, but it’s definitely still a really nice, peaceful place to watch the night sky.
This player used a couple of customized items from the iron garden set as well as some custom paths and flowers to decorate a super simple stargazing seating area.
2 A Hidden Forest
Although there are some people that have super developed islands and look like an entire city, there are other people that have made their islands a lot more natural with flowers, trees, and cliffs everywhere.
This player is one with a more natural island feel and they made this stargazing area in a serene, hidden forest between a pair of cliffs with tons of flowers, log stakes, and trees.
1 Simple Stargazing
This player only used a small section of their island to create this stargazing area, but it’s proof that players don’t have to set aside a huge area of their island with a ton of items to make for a nice stargazing spot.
This player put a rocking chair and a telescope on a cliff, surrounded by flowers and trees, and made a super relaxing place to sit and watch for shooting stars.
