Even when it’s not fall or Halloween, people love decorating their Animal Crossing homes in as spooky of a way as possible. The good news for those who love that aesthetic is all of the furniture and D.I.Y. recipes that came to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in October to celebrate the season.

Many of the spooky items require players to have purchased and grown pumpkins. These pumpkins, no matter their color, could be used to make some great creations that can really send chills down people’s spines. Despite needing to do some farming, there are plenty of items in the collection that make it all worth it.

10 Spooky Lantern Set

The first item on this list is reminiscent of going to an outdoor Halloween festival near cornfields and chilling on some hay bales. The Spooky Lantern Set features one jack o’lantern, a smaller lantern, and a hay bale for players to sit on. During the fall, players could purchase the item from Nook’s Cranny for 5,900 bells. However, after obtaining the recipe from villagers or balloons, it can be crafted with four orange pumpkins and four clumps of weeds. The item is also customizable as two pumpkins of the same color can change the design of the item.

9 Spooky Candy Set

The spooky season is nothing without its candy, and one furniture item fully-embraces the sugary overload of the holiday. The Spooky Candy Set features a jack o’lantern filled with candy sitting alongside a cake pop and a cupcake on top of a placemat. It can be purchased for 3,500 bells or crafted using one orange pumpkin and three candy. The customization costs three pumpkins of the same color and changes the look of the pumpkin, cake pop, and cupcake. The only downside is that the item only sells for 875 bells in Nook’s Cranny.

8 Spooky Table Setting

Need to set the table in a spooky way? Look no further than the Spooky Table Setting, which is equal parts adorable and terrifying. The individual set-up includes a plate with a jack o’lantern face on it, two utensils, a candle, and a drink that has a toothpick with a bat on it.

The item is obtained during Halloween by giving candy to a village and receiving the recipe. The recipe calls for using one orange pumpkin as well as one iron nugget to create it. Customization between the four variants requires three pumpkins of the same color.

7 Spooky Wand

In terms of tools that fit a spooky vibe, there is the Spooky Wand. Wands help players change between different outfits that they have pre-assigned using their closet. The Spooky Wand fits with Halloween as the pumpkin top and striped stick blend well with any potential costumes players would like to change into. In order to get the wand, players will need to get the recipe from Jack, the Czar of Halloween, by gifting him a lollipop. Once the recipe is learned, players will need one Spooky Lantern and three-star fragments.

6 Spooky Standing Lamp

With all the use of jack o’lanterns in these spooky item designs, it’s important to have some that actually light up. The Spooky Standing Lamp is the perfect outside lamp to fit in with all the pumpkin-centric furniture. The lamp appears like a dead tree that has a hanging jack o’lantern on it that can be turned on and off like any other light in the game. The recipe can be obtained from villagers or balloons, or bought at Nook’s Cranny for 5,800 bells. The recipe itself calls for three orange pumpkins, five hardwood, and one piece of clay. Customization of the light requires two pumpkins of the same color.

5 Spooky Table

Players who are going all-in on decorating their homes with the Spooky series may have the Spooky Candy Set and Spooky Table Setting but need to find a perfect place to put them. The Spooky Table serves that purpose as the 2x2 table is perfect for having a creepy dinner. The table is essentially a pumpkin cut in half with the table itself being the bottom half with a face carved into the top. Once again, this an item that can be bought in store for 5,500 bells or obtained via villager or balloon. The recipe requires 14 orange pumpkins and ten softwood. Seven pumpkins of the same color are needed for customization.

4 Spooky Rug

Along with all the furniture, there are also wallpaper and flooring that match the spooky aesthetic. In addition, there is also a rug that players can throw down that really makes the flooring pop. The Spooky Rug resembles a pumpkin patch with jack o’lanterns and vines being the main elements of the rug and various Jacks in the center of it.

This is another item that is only available on Halloween and can be obtained from a villager by giving them candy or a lollipop. The rug itself is 4x4, taking up a massive portion of a room.

3 Spooky Fence

One important element added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the addition of fences which allowed players to section off parts of their island as a way of further decorating and organizing the town’s overall design. In the spooky category, there is the Spooky Fence. The fence appears to be made out of metal and has a pumpkin design that goes along with it. The recipe can be obtained from villagers and balloons during October. The recipe itself calls for five iron nuggets and three pumpkins.

2 Spooky Arch

Speaking of fencing, another outdoor item type that has been thrown into the mix frequently is the archway, a perfect way to welcome individuals into a new area of the island. So, in sticking with the spooky theme, the Spooky Arch has a similar vibe to it as the Spooky Lantern. The main arch is made of two dead trees and vines with lights on it. There is also multiple bats and jack o’lanterns that tie into the theme as well. The item can be bought for 18,000 bells or crafted using 10 pumpkins, 10 hardwood, and three clay. Customization options are available using six same-colored pumpkins.

1 Spooky Carriage

When it comes to Animal Crossing, there is always one item in a series that stands out above the rest. For the Spooky series, it’s the surprising but wonderful Spooky Carriage. This large object is considered a houseware item but really looks great outside. The carriage is reminiscent of Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach but with more of a Halloween theme. The item can be obtained by giving candy or a lollipop to Jack. A recipe can also be received, which asks players to use 30 orange pumpkins, 20 hardwood, 20 wood, 20 softwood, and 10 iron nuggets. Customization using seven pumpkins is also available.
