No game is better for unleashing one’s creativity than Animal Crossing: New Horizons, in which the player is sent to an island getaway to build their own paradise from the bottom up. Creating a five-star island is one task in itself, but making the dream house is an entirely different thing altogether, and for more impatient players, might require a bit of time traveling.

There are countless items and themes available in the game, each of them fitting just about any style of indoor design and decoration. For players still trying to decide what style to go for, here are 10 super creative houses by talented players with a vision.

10 Fine Dining

A house doesn’t always have to be a home. Players can also turn their homes into something completely different, such as a restaurant or a café. Finally there’s a purpose for all those restaurant and dining-themed items available in the game.

Reddit user thirtytwoounces created this dimly lit fine dining restaurant in their house, with a gorgeous wallpaper depicting the night view of a city. The candles and the wallpaper really make this look extremely believable.

9 Vintage Orange

The game makes it fairly easy to choose from a wide range of different styles. Whether players prefer modern and minimalist or have a passion for all things retro, there’s something for just about anyone.

8 Zen Style

One of the most popular themes in terms of island and indoor design is without a doubt the traditional Japanese look. There are so many items in the game that fit this category and just look so good.

Ackazi decided to embrace this traditional Japanese theme by creating an adorable traditional Japanese home. Complete with futons and low tables, this house is the perfect place to relax and find one’s inner peace.

7 Delicate Kitchen

After a while, many players will start to accumulate a ton of decoration items. They might not all fit a certain theme necessarily, but there’s always a way to make things work one way or another, as shown by this clean minimalist kitchen.

User _bethanwi was inspired by Korean and Japanese vlogs on YouTube, which often depict aesthetically pleasing indoor decoration. They did an awesome job in replicating this modern cottage look.

6 Yellow Cuteness

Thanks to the customization tool, just about any furniture can be modified to have a certain color, look or pattern. This allows for so many more decoration options, even if the objects might seem a bit limited at some point in the game.

Yellow is one of those under-represented colors, and to combine it with blue might seem like a strange idea. However, elizabethacnh did it to perfection. This adorable bedroom with a cutesy look is one of the most unique ideas seen so far.

5 Traditional Japanese

After a while, many houses will start to turn into places to store cool-looking stuff, and that’s okay! Players who can still make their houses look incredible despite this are truly an inspiration for the rest of the community, and this next house proves it.

Megido.laonn’s house is packed with really distinct, fun decoration, each room with a slightly different look. That being said, it all works really well together and makes players yearn for more decoration objects.

4 Functional Kitchen

There are a few wallpapers and objects that might seem like they don’t really fit anywhere, and the brick wallpaper is definitely one of them. Thankfully, the community for the game is huge and full of players who never shy away from a design challenge.

Sustainedaesthetic totally turned this brick wallpaper around and created a lovely, minimalist, modern and clean kitchen with a hint of vintage as well. It’s really cool how both old and new pieces can look so good when combined.

3 Witchy Corner

While there isn’t any clear magic in Animal Crossing, that doesn’t mean magical designs can’t be created. With how many gothic and old-style items there are, it would be a shame not to have these incredible objects used to their full potential.

Mayorkyuta’s witchy house is a dream come true. It looks just like the hiding place for an absent-minded scientist or witch concocting potions or practicing spells. Their character fits the theme of the house as well, which is a big bonus.

2 Retro Arcade

Many probably remember those old school arcades that were lit up with blacklight and had those glowing floor patterns and murals to spice up the experience. Well, it’s actually possible to make something pretty similar in Animal Crossing with a bit of imagination.

Animalcrossingisla was inspired by a Las Vegas and arcade theme, deciding to go for a neon-lit basement with tons of old school arcade games and machines to play. Why not make one for the villagers?

1 Yellow Diner

Color choices really make a huge difference in the game and can bring any house together. Combining yellow and black for instance might not sound like a great idea, until you walk into the Hunny Bee Diner by cami.animal.crossing.

Inspired by a bee theme, this diner or kitchen is just gorgeous. It has a nice combination of modern and retro objects. What’s even cuter is that the player’s skin looks just like the uniform of a diner waitress.
