The recently-released second wave of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update has brought back dreaming to the much-loved life simulator, making it even more charming than it already was.

With this cool new feature, players can now visit dream islands created by other players. Each dream island created and uploaded online will generate a unique Dream Address which you can share with others, allowing them to visit your dream island when their character goes to sleep. The main difference between dream islands and regular islands is that visitors can’t make any permanent changes to the former type of island when they visit them.

New Horizons’ version 1.4.0 hasn’t even been live for a full week yet, but predictably we’re already seeing some incredible creations emerging thanks to the new dreams feature. Here we have five of our favorite dream islands so far which you absolutely have to check out!

To visit any of these islands, all you have to do is make your character go to sleep and input any of the following Dream Addresses when prompted. The island’s creator doesn’t need to be online for you to visit, but you do still need a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Asgard

Get your Viking on when you visit this superb Norse-inspired dream island created by New Horizons player ‘MegaRadge.’ The level of work put into this island and the sheer attention to detail is clear - definitely something worth seeing for any player looking for a unique Animal Crossing experience!

Konpei Island (Konpeito Island)

This dream island is beautifully striking thanks to the fact that everything on it is snowy white. Creator ’m’ has managed to craft a super unique landscape whose chromatic simplicity is equal parts truly gorgeous and somewhat eerie. Definitely a must-see, and if you yourself wear white whilst visiting you’re sure to get some really beautiful photos out of it!

Étoile Island

This one takes the meaning of “dreamy” to the next level. Created by a player who fittingly goes by the name of ‘chocolate,’ Étoile Island (which also fittingly means Star Island in French) is the epitome of sweet, sparkly, adorable-ness. You can spend ages combing through every inch of this island which is opulently decorated in hues of pastel pink and peach. It’s perfect for any Animal Crossing player in search of the ultimate dreamy hideaway.

Silenthill Island

If pink and fluffy isn’t really your cup of tea, there are also plenty of dream islands cropping up that definitely fall closer towards the nightmare end of the spectrum. This particular one is of course worth mentioning, for the sake of any horror-lover acquainted with the Japanese Silent Hill series. Created by player ‘Ram,’ this awesome recreation of the ultimate town of creeps Silent Hill is sure to leave any visitor feeling a little ill at ease.

Zawa Island

Depicting a different kind of Japanese aesthetic, and bringing things back to a somewhat calmer level, we present to you Zawa Island. Created by ‘Zawa’ (the name makes sense now), Zawa Island depicts a truly beautiful dreamworld heavily inspired by all things Japanese. Visit festival grounds or bathe in an onsen - the name given to the hot springs which dot Japan - or simply breathe in the quiet solitude of the atmosphere.
