Most weddings won’t be occurring this year due to, you know, the world being on fire, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the love of those who managed to get hitched before society crumbled. Today marks the beginning of Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s Wedding Season event, a chance to help popular married couple Reese and Cyrus commemorate their wedding anniversary with some cherished photos.
While helping others can be its own reward, no doubt you’re wondering what kind of goodies you’ll get for participating in this event. So here’s a guide that explains what to do and what items are in store for you if you assist these adorable alpacas.
What You Need To Do
To kick off the Wedding Season event, you’ll need to take a call from Harvey, that weird dude who’s really into taking pictures of people. You’ll then have to hop on a Dodo flight to his island where you’ll find Reese and Cyrus, who are there to take some celebratory anniversary pictures. Like everyone else in the universe of Animal Crossing, they’ll ask for your help so they can make this photography session the best that it can be.
Reese will then tell you what they need to recreate their wedding for the photos. From there, you’ll place some lovely wedding furniture and decorations in order to dress the studio and take the picture using your phone. Afterward, you’ll receive a reward for your troubles. This will then become a daily occurrence for your character for the duration of the event with different scenes to replicate, which seems like an excessive amount of photos, but hey, it’s their anniversary.
What You Can Get
Now to make this truly worth your while there better be some pretty neat rewards. There are a variety of new items, clothing, and pieces of furniture related to the event that can be strewn about your happy home.
For your participation, you can receive wedding-themed furniture like the Wedding Arch, Wedding Bench, Wedding Chair, Wedding Head Table, Wedding Table, and the sure-to-be popular Wedding Pipe Organ.
There are also decorations like the Wedding Candle Set, Wedding-party Wall, Wedding Welcome Board, Wedding Cake, Reese & Cyrus Photo Plate, White, Green, and Brown Wedding Walls and Flooring, and of course, the simply named Wedding Decoration.
Finally, you’re going to need proper wedding attire, so there’s also themed clothing like the Wedding Pumps, Wedding Shoes, Wedding Tuxedo, Bridal Veil, and the mysterious but alluring Cake Dress.
In addition to Wedding Season items, there is also a new form of currency to be earned. Heart Crystals will be given to you by Reese for helping her and her husband, and you’ll get more depending on how good of a job you do. Instead of being used to raise your health like in Terraria, these can be spent on any of the above items. So if you’re worried about not being able to participate in the event every single day, just save up your Heart Crystals and we’re sure you’ll be able to buy as many Wedding Cakes, Chairs, and Tables as you’d like.
Tis The Season
The Wedding Season event begins today June 1 and is expected to run until June 30. So if you want to get in on all these lovey-dovey, matrimonial fun, it’s time to hop on your Switch and start taking some pretty pictures.
