People are constantly discovering new things about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and folks on Reddit may have just uncovered what decides the color of the furniture you can find in Nook’s Cranny and the Nook Miles store: your airport roof design.
That’s right, your airport, which you’d think would be completely unrelated to anything you’d find in a Nook store. The airport can have one of three roof colors: orange, blue, yellow, and green, and according to a hypothesis by Reddit user PraiseHolo, these randomly-assigned colors will correspond to the designs of certain pieces of furniture.
Say you have a blue airport—your Godzilla statuette would be red and your lamppost green. If you have an orange airport, those pieces of furniture would be brown and white, respectively. Of course, there are more pieces of furniture seemingly affected by your airport color than the ones just listed.
Redditors are still grouping the pieces and how noting how the designs change between airport colors, but in doing so, they’ve found other pieces of furniture that are grouped similarly.
Take the porta-potty, for example. Having a blue porta-potty will give you a blue jungle gym and having a red telephone booth will give you a uniformly green pair of plastic seats. Reddit is still trying to crack how these matched furniture pieces are grouped, and while a few discrepancies have poked holes into PraiseHolo’s theory, it’s still incredibly solid. Great catch!
