Saying goodbye to a friend is never easy, whether it’s in real life or in the virtual world. And for one young Animal Crossing: New Horizons player, finding out a villager was leaving her island was too much to handle.

Twitter user @dropDQ10 is a mother who plays Animal Crossing: New Horizons with her daughter. In a now-viral tweet, the mother detailed her and her daughter’s experiences saying goodbye to their first villager.

As shown in a series of tweets, @dropDQ10 explained that her island received a visitor at the campsite. She and her daughter were interested in inviting the new visitor to move to their island but unfortunately were already at the cap of 10 villagers per island. The two eventually decided on kicking out villager Diva to accommodate this new visitor.

However, @dropDQ10’s young daughter did not take the news well; and upon learning that Diva would be permanently leaving their island, burst into tears and completely broke down:

To try and help ease her pain, @dropDQ10 says she made an adorable Diva doll for her daughter and surprised her daughter when she came back home from school. While they couldn’t stop Diva from moving away, at least her daughter would always have Diva with her in the form of an adorable little doll.

But this heartwarming tale doesn’t stop there. After @dropDQ10’s tweet went viral, another Twitter user replied saying that their island had just received a new resident: Diva! Twitter user @erika68967513 tweeted a picture of Diva on their island and asked @dropDQ10 to show the image to her daughter. According to @dropDQ10, her daughter was pleased and happy to see that Diva had found a new island to live in.
