The popular isekai light novel and anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero has gained quite a following since its release - and now, thanks to some creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons designers, you can dress your villagers up like the brave and fearless Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo!

Naofumi Iwatani (The Shield Hero)
The protagonist of the series, Naofumi Iwatani is the eponymous Shield Hero. Initially a normal twenty-year-old college sophomore otaku, he one day finds himself transported to the fantasy country of Melromarc and told he must fight off interdimensional hordes of monsters called Waves. Though he comes off as spiteful and cynical throughout the majority of the series, he displays many clandestine moments of kindness for his companions, demonstrating his love and care for people he trusts.

Raphtalia
Naofumi’s first companion, Raphtalia, is a demi-human who wields a sword in combat. Though she’s first introduced as a sickly, small, and terrified child with whom Naofumi forms a slave contract, she quickly grows into a bold, strong, and talented swordswoman who forms a genuine emotional bond with her master. She is known for her kind and compassionate heart, something that many characters, including Naofumi, compliment her on.

Filo
The adorable Filo is a Filolial (a monster species who takes on the appearance of a giant bird) who becomes Naofumi’s second companion. She was born from a monster egg that Naofumi initially purchased, believing it might become a dragon. After the egg cracked and a Filolial bird emerged, Naofumi raised the bird and named her “Filo”, unaware of her true nature as a species that could transform into a human. Though her personality can sometimes come off spoiled and self-centered, she cares deeply for Naofumi, even willing to put her life on the line for him.
