The March Sanrio Update has just arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, allowing players to use the Sanrio amiibo cards to invite the six Sanrio-inspired villagers to their island, each of which is based on a different Sanrio character or franchise. If you don’t yet have the Sanrio amiibo cards, Nintendo is re-releasing them on March 26th.

Scanning each of the Sanrio amiibo cards will also unlock the furnishings seen in each villager’s home, as well as some rather adorable clothing items. The great thing is that you can also gift these items to your friends, regardless of whether they have the Sanrio cards or not.

Where To Use Amiibo Cards

You can scan amiibo cards in a couple of places, the first being via the Nook Stop Terminal in Resident Services using the “Invite Amiibo Camper” option. However, you can only do this once per day, and if you want to invite the villager to your island, you’ll have to invite them to your campsite over three days and fulfill their requests each time. The second place you can scan amiibo cards and the far quicker way of getting all of the Sanrio items is on Harvey’s island.

After scanning the cards, you can order all of the furnishings and clothing from each card via the Nook Shopping app, found under the “Promotional” tab in “Special Goods”.
