Here’s where to catch a saw stag in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It’s July, and that means new bugs have arrived in New Horizons. One of those bugs is the saw stag, a member of the stag beetle family that has a distinctive and fearsome-looking serrated mandible. But it doesn’t use it to cut anything, it’s just intimidating.
Like other stag beetles, the saw stag is found on trees. You’ll have to carefully sneak up on one in order to catch it with your net. Approach too quickly and it will fly away, forcing you to look around at other trees to find a new one.
Saw stags spawn all day, every day, regardless of the hour, so you could find one early in the morning or late at night. They’re available in the Northern Hemisphere between July and August, and in the Southern Hemisphere in January and February.
You can donate your saw stag to Blathers for his museum exhibit, or you can sell them to the Nook brothers for 2,000 bells. But if you give them to Blathers along with other stag beetles, they’ll form little beetle fight clubs where they lock horns and toss each other around–just like in real life! And who doesn’t want that?
