Want to be all fancy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Then here’s how you make the Gold Armor, you fancy lass you.
As with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, you can make Gold Armor in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This doesn’t provide you with a bonus to your armor class or anything like that–it just looks cool. It’s also virtually impossible to craft without spending quite a few hours in this game, so don’t expect to make it until you’re well into the late game.
The first step to making the Gold Armor is getting the recipe. It’s a DIY recipe, and there are only three ways to get it. First, it can come randomly from a villager, and this is by far the most likely way you’ll obtain it. The other two ways are as a message in a bottle or in a gift balloon, but as those are random occurrences already, better not count on either of these methods as reliable for some sweet golden armor.
Recipe in hand, you now need to acquire 8 golden nuggets. This is also easier said than done as gold nuggets are extremely rare drops whenever you smack a rock (which is how one mines in Animal Crossing).
The odds of getting a gold nugget increase if you’re using a better tool, so don’t bother using a flimsy shovel. Also, it seems like you have a better chance of getting a gold nugget the longer you’ve played, so hopefully you’ve put in a few solid days of playtime at this point.
Of course, you can find more resource rocks on resource islands, which will further enhance your chances of striking gold.
Once you’ve got 8 nuggets, head to the crafting station and make your Gold Armor.
What can you do with your Gold Armor other than wear it? Well, it’s also needed in order to craft the Robot Hero, which is a giant Gundam-like statue. Or you can sell it for 80,000 bells.
