Animal Crossing: New Horizons is no stranger to bugs and glitches. While it isn’t renowned for them like other big releases, players tend to come across them with some level of frequency, including one player who found a disturbing silhouette and the far-off distance while standing before the vast ocean.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons player Nutblack, indeed, discovered an unsettling glitch that involved the sighting of a tall silhouette and the distance from the coast of the island. The player took several screenshots showing the bizarre anomaly.

One of the screenshots can be seen below.

As can be seen in the screenshot above, the villager stands just before a river or pond, with a tall, gray silhouette in the distance. The figure almost looks like something out of Stranger Things or some other sci-fi or horror property (Stranger Things outfit codes, anyone?).

Ultimately, this is likely due to some strange glitch. It is odd how convincingly in the distance it is. In other words, it looks as if it is part of the game, making the glitchy fairly unnerving.

While this is probably scariest thing Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have come across, even more so than Wisp the Ghost, this is nowhere near the only the glitch encountered. Another unnerving glitch discovered by one player was the disturbing amount of blinking by two fellow villagers in their Animal Crossing: New Horizons island.

Nintendo is generally renowned for the level of polish in its games. Yet, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have also been able to scale buildings and go beyond the bounds of their islands.

Furthermore, players have discovered ways to duplicate items within their homes. Whether this is to turn a profit or simply have more than one type of item in your household, the glitch is, nonetheless, a somewhat useful one.

Still, however, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is relatively polished compared to numerous high-profile releases in recent times. Further, no glitches have hampered the game’s sheer popularity, with even social media platform Twitter creating its very own Animal Crossing: New Horizons island. And its popularity may only continue to expand for weeks to come.
