Guess what? You can experience the grandeur of a double rainbow in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
“Didn’t know rainbows could appear and got a double rainbow,” wrote Reddit user ThotRamen on the Animal Crossing subreddit. Below the title was the double rainbow in question, with the faintly colored bands stacked one on top of the other.
Rainbows are already a rare phenomenon to experience in New Horizons. Just like in real life, rainbows will only appear following hours of heavy rainfall. They’re more common in the afternoon, appearing between the hours of 11 AM and 3 PM. They’ll stay in the sky for one hour, starting off weak before achieving peak brightness and then fading away.
Double rainbows are exceptionally rare in both New Horizons and the real world. They’re also a reference to a popular 2010 meme where a possibly high individual experiences a double rainbow for the very first time in his life.
Congratulations, ThotRamen. You might never experience a double rainbow in the real world, but at least you got to experience one in Animal Crossing.
