This Pokémon fan recreated Pokémon Gold & Silver’s Johto Region in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

So we’ve already had New Horizons players recreate Pallet Town and Melemele Island in Animal Crossing, and now here’s another one making all of Johto. Pretty soon we’ll have the entire Pokémon franchise represented in Animal Crossing through a series of islands.

We’ve got Japanese YouTuber ヒノッチ (@hinopika) to thank for this stunning recreation of Johto. Not only was the entire island terraformed to vaguely resemble parts of Johto, but almost every square of land was painted with 47 custom designs to make it actually look like the Gameboy title.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to place real Pokémon and trainers in New Horizons, but you can place paintings of them, which is exactly what ヒノッチ did. The addition of pop-up text and original music in the video really sells the illusion that we’re in Johto and not New Horizons.

There are a few notable landmarks, such as the Lake of Rage (complete with red Gyarados), the Brass Tower, and Ecruteak City, but the island is tragically not large enough to fully recreate all of Johto.

On the plus side, the last half of the video reveals all of the 47 custom designs used to make this mini-Johto, and even the custom Cyndaquil hat and kigu too.
