Summer is in full swing - both in the real world and in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The popular life simulator recently went through a major update to reflect the summer season that saw the introduction of swimming, new mermaid-themed DIY recipes, and summer-themed gear. However, some creative players have decided to take their summer games to the next level and design their own swimming pools on their islands.
Now, technically, there are “pools” in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, they’re quite small, and only come in two variations - hot tubs or kiddie pools. Plus, they cost bells.
What these players have done, instead, is to use custom floor tiles to recreate the appearance of a swimming pool on the ground of their island. This gives them the freedom to curate a pool that looks exactly how they want, including deciding on the color of the water, the size, and the location. Some fans have even incorporated New Horizons’ pools into their design, making their custom swimming pools look extra fancy.
Here’s a design from Twitter user @acnh_chlo, who decorated her space with plenty of summer-themed decorations and other accessories to make it look realistic.

Other villagers have decided to make their own makeshift “infinity pools” by incorporating the actual water surrounding their islands in their design. One example can be seen here in Twitter user @MayariCin’s design. Talk about living the life of luxury!
