There are so many reasons to love the world of Animal Crossing. With everything going on, players can kick back and enjoy fishing, bug-catching, and decorating. Players can lose hundreds of hours to everything in this virtual world of walking, talking animals.

Talking to the villagers is one of the greatest ways to pass the time in Animal Crossing. The villagers are not only adorable and full of personality, but the things they say can leave you laughing out loud. Here is a list of some of the weirdest lines to expect from your neighbors.

10 Sherb

Enjoy the commentary of the lazy goat, Sherb. Introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this supposed compliment from Sherb is enough to leave an impression. The lazy goat was sweet enough to keep us in his thoughts, but players had to question what that reason was based on this line. The game gives our character a round head, but Sherb has decided to point that out, which is peculiar.

9 Merry

Representation of the LGBTQ+ community is important to lots of gamers out there, and this fun line from Merry is a tasteful addition to the dialogue. Merry is an adorable peppy cat. If you happen to strike up a conversation with Merry, be on the lookout for this text. After having this discussion with her, we all ship Princess of Rocketboarding and Princess of Explosions. They sound like a real action-packed dream team.

8 Cranston

Birdbaths have a self-explanatory purpose, they are a place for birds to clean themselves or, in some cases, get a drink of water. Cranston, being the lazy ostrich he is, somehow failed to register that information in life. First introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Cranston is a nature lover.

Given his love for nature, this line he spouts can not help but get a double-take for being weird. Adding on to it, Cranston claiming that having a birdbath outside is just weird. Does he expect to make this an indoor piece of furniture?

7 Sprinkle

Sprinkle is a sweet little peppy penguin who has a dark side. The little white and mint-colored penguin was first introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. They say two things are certain in life: death, and taxes. People do all sorts of things to avoid taxes and in this line from Sprinkles, she openly admits to doing just that. Sprinkles gave us this fun line that definitely got a giggle or two.

6 Tangy

Tangy is a little more than just tangy. A peppy cat villager, Tangy is a beloved character from the series as she is one of the characters depicting food, but she is also a lovable sweetheart. However, this line is very misleading to the point those unfamiliar with her would assume she is odd. The text takes a minute to interpret as it is in all caps, but it is the apparent result of a coffee rush. Chat up this sweet orange themed cat for more interesting exchanges like this one.

5 Phoebe

First introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Phoebe is our girl. This fitness loving, sisterly type ostrich is precious. If you have her for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you already know her style is fire.

People interpret dreams to mean a lot of things, but this dialogue from Phoebe is really extra and comical. Apparently, she wants Hans to start running way faster than any character from the series is capable of and leap into the sky. If she wanted him to catch some floating gifts, that would be one thing, but that does not seem to be her goal.

4 Zucker

Any fan of the Animal Crossing series would recognize Zucker. Zucker has one of the best/most appetizing designs of all the villagers in the Animal Crossing world — inspired by the delicious Japanese treat, takoyaki. The heavy Japanese influence associated with Zucker is what makes this line so memorable. Anyone who witnessed this exchange with Zucker cannot help but think of stereotypes associated with Japanese culture. Who doesn’t like a good stompy robots anime movie?

3 Ankha

Ankha is a little more than snooty, and she shows it with this text from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Due to her snooty personality, she loves fashion and generally likes to be on fleek. Hence this discussion about gorgeous items suits her perfectly.

Having one of the most iconic character designs in the series, Ankha is a favorite amongst gamers. Besides her looks, she has a colorful personality too. Our Egyptian themed queen has been known to dish out some colorful dialogue. If you want more weird lines, just keep striking up a conversation with her.

2 Sterling

Say hello to the dashing Sterling, a gamer’s knight in shining armor. Players may have met him in City Folk already, but his chats are still as amazing as ever. Whenever this eagle jock is in the frame, you can expect weird lines like the one above to make an appearance. We are not sure where Sterling has seen these alleged ripped ghosts, but we are very curious now.

1 Rex

Food is life. Almost everyone you come across loves food. Rex took this love for the delicious treats to a weird level with this line taken from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Just the way this lazy lion phrases this makes you feel a little uneasy. The latest game has done an amazing job at depicting food aesthetic that many have already commented on, but Rex needs a little more tact. Although, weird lines like this and many others are one of the many amazing things animal crossing has to offer the gaming community.
