In the universe of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are over 300 different villagers that may come and live on the player’s island. Each of them belongs to one of 35 different animal species, and every single one of them has a unique appearance and character design that truly sets them apart.
Most importantly, however, villagers all belong to one of eight personality types found in the game: jock, cranky, lazy, smug, snooty, peppy, sisterly, and normal. The first four are male personality types, whereas the last four are considered female personality types. With each type having their own traits and behavior models, here’s how they would fit with zodiac types.
12 Aries: Jock
Aries is one of those fiery zodiac types, known for loving anything competitive. They can’t handle being kept down and are always ambitiously pursuing their goals. Hot-headed, they love a fast and a dynamic lifestyle.
The jock personality type is pretty close to Aries, since jocks in the game love competition and striving for that perfect body. They’re high tempo and have a ton of energy.
11 Taurus: Smug
Taurus is a zodiac type known for being a steadfast rock that friends and family can rely on. They’re very strong, with a charming flare that makes them appear confident and reliable. As such, they make for excellent partners.
Smug villagers, although at times a bit arrogant, are fairly close to Taurus. They’re very well-mannered and often behave like gentlemen.
10 Gemini: Peppy
Geminis are like the brightly shining stars of all the zodiac types. Highly emotional, they’re known by everyone else to be trustworthy friends with a positive outlook on life. Kind and caring, they’re not likely to dismiss anyone after first impressions.
The peppy personality type is very much in line with Geminis. Peppy villagers get excited over anything and are very high energy, while also being kind and somewhat emotional.
9 Cancer: Sisterly
Cancers are often considered by many to be the guardians among all zodiac types. They stand up for people and protect their own fiercely, while also showing extreme loyalty to their friends. Their deep emotional side makes them great listeners.
Sisterly villagers are definitely similar in this sense, as they often act protective over the player and seem to care very deeply about them.
8 Leo: Cranky
Fiery and arrogant Leos might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they have a charisma and flair that no one else has among the zodiac types. They’re similar to Aries when it comes to their temper, and hate losing above all.
Cranky villagers are often big complainers, but they have that straightforward, self-assured side that many Leos tend to have as well.
7 Virgo: Normal
Virgos are some of the most hardworking and focused people out there. They approach every problem with a logical mind and don’t easily get overwhelmed when organizing their lives. At the same time, they can be very caring and motherly.
Normal villagers often have a healthy, neutral mentality towards life on the island. They don’t depict extreme behaviors, which makes them seem close to the smart, intelligent Virgos.
6 Libra: Normal
The very symbol of Libra is the balance, which describes their approach to life perfectly. Open-minded and yet very concerned with superficial things. They have a natural charm and generally understand others even when they’re being wronged.
Normal villagers can sometimes get hung up on superficial aspects of life as well, and their neutral personality type allows them to tolerate and get along with just about anyone.
5 Scorpio: Snooty
Scorpios are another intense sign among the zodiac types. They’re quite fiery individuals, with a bucket load of ambition in them. Nothing gets in their way, once they set their eyes on something, and they tend to be quite selfish.
Snooty villagers are often only concerned with themselves and their appearance. Many of them believe they’re important and can come across as rude, which is the same energy as Scorpios have.
4 Sagittarius: Peppy
Loud and boisterous, nothing is quite like a ball of energy as Sagittarius is. They’re the light of any party and crave human contact at all times. They need others around them to thrive, if only to tell them jokes and make them laugh.
Peppy villagers are similarly high energy as Sagittariuses. Their emotions are on their sleeve: always visible and very extreme. The highs and lows are often pronounced.
3 Capricorn: Jock
Capricorns might be seen as cold people by many, but the fact is that most Capricorns are simply too concerned with their own goals to pay attention to others. They’re serious overachievers, who have the determination of a mountain.
Jocks also have this highly motivated side to themselves, even if many of them tend to be more socially open than most Capricorns. Still, both share the same degree of ambition.
2 Aquarius: Lazy
Many would easily describe Aquarius as the weirdo of the zodiac types, and for good reason. They often have strange, unorthodox ideas to share, which make them unrealistic dreamers or just rebels without proper cause.
Lazy villagers might not be philosophers, but they have the same general vibe as Aquarius who likes to play the armchair philosopher rather than actually getting immediately involved in anything.
1 Pisces: Sisterly
Friendly and very family-oriented, Pisces needs a strong social group around them to feel secure and happy. They show their emotions openly and easily, whether they’re positive and negative. Most importantly, however, they’re immensely loving and caring.
The sisterly villagers are similar when it comes to caring for the player, as well as being open about their emotions. They can be a bit intense at times, but at least they’re honest.
