Apex Legends gives characters an ultimate, tactical, and passive ability that work in tandem to take down an opponent. The passive ability is one that acts on its own as it does not have to be activated and has no cooldown period. Some of the characters have better passive abilities than others, although it entirely depends upon your playstyle.

This ranking considers this ability by itself without regard to the other abilities a character may have. Their passive ability in Apex Legends may not make them the strongest, but it can give them a leg up over the competition.

10 Revenant (Stalker)

Revenant’s passive ability is called Stalker, and it allows him to crouch-walk faster and climb to higher heights than other legends, which is something few players know about him. This allows for him to put himself in optimal fighting positions as he is able to quickly sneak around and flank an enemy, or take the high ground.

Both methods will put him at an advantage in a fight, but other passive abilities are more team-based which is why this was ranked so low.

9 Wattson (Spark Of Genius)

Wattson’s Spark of Genius passive ability makes it so that Ultimate Accelerants completely recharge your Ultimate Ability. It will usually only restore about 35% of it, but this increases the usefulness of these dropped items, especially with the most recent change to its use in Season 8.

It will usually take quite a while, especially if you don’t engage in combat, but now it will instantly be ready and with Wattson, this means a bounty of free shield recharges during and after a fight.

8 Loba (Eye For Quality)

Loba has an eye for quality, as these cosplays go to show, which means that she can see purple and gold loot through walls. This put her at an advantage in the early game as she can run to grab the best armor and weapon attachments before her opponents.

It also allows her to quickly loot areas once she has her basic loadout as then she is really only looking for the best attachments and armor when searching buildings.

7 Fuse (Grenadier)

Fuse is the newest character to be added and he has a thing for explosives. His passive ability reiterates this fact as he can use a grenade launcher to shoot grenades, further, faster, and more accurately than if he was throwing them.

It can be very useful, especially against camping teams, as he can keep his distance and flush them out of an area. This ability also allows him to stack two grenades in each slot, giving him twice the amount of firepower.

6 Gibraltar (Gun Shield)

Gibraltar’s passive ability may be most beneficial to him, but keeping himself alive will help the whole team as he can throw down bombs or deploy a protective shield. He creates a personal gun shield every time he aims down sights, but he can also act as a shield for his teammates.

This character is already so big to begin with that he can help protect healing teammates by using himself and his shield to protect them from harm.

5 Bangalore (Double Time)

Bangalore has Double Time which allows her to move faster when sprinting when opponents are firing at her. This allows her to avoid bullets as she makes her grand escape, and it can help less skilled players stay alive for a little bit longer.

She can bob and weave her way out of situations and when paired with her smoke it makes her basically untouchable, but some say this is an unpopular opinion.

4 Octane (Swift Mend)

Octane can heal himself over time, and who wouldn’t want this passive ability? It makes it so you don’t have to waste med kits or syringes unless absolutely necessary.

This also helps if you don’t have any healing on you, in terms of batteries or health, and at least this can help give you a chance in a fight until you come across some. It can make all the difference which is why it is such a desired trait for a character to have.

3 Lifeline (Combat Medic)

Everyone needs healing at some point in the game, but if you have a teammate who is constantly downed then Lifeline’s Combat Medic is what you need. She will send out a drone that provides a shield and a revive to a teammate, so she can provide the cover fire while they are brought back to life, even though beginners often forget to use it.

It is an amazing ability and they made it even better from when the game first came out as you no longer have to sit there and revive your teammate yourself.

2 Bloodhound (Tracker)

Bloodhound has a passive ability called Tracker that allows him to see where an opponent has been and how long it has been since they were there. It can help you find teams to push or even avoid them if you don’t have the weapons or health to survive.

Players also find it especially useful at the end game when they are trying to figure out where the last teams are at, as this ability will point you in the right direction.

1 Wraith (Voices From The Void)

Wraith has the most useful passive ability of all as she can hear when an opponent is aiming at her with their best weapon. This is very useful as it prevents opponents from sneaking up on them or third partying after a fight has ended, as she can warn everyone that someone is nearby.

This is an invaluable skill and why the Voices From the Void is the highest rated passive ability as she is often crucial to a squad’s success.
