Apex Legends Data Miner Shrugtal has again leaked details pertaining to the game’s Campfire mode.
The Respawn battle royal title will introduce a limited-time mode (LTM) soon and leaked files, courtesy of Shrugtal, point to it being based around Campfires and being part of the Lost Treasures Event.
Said event brought a host of changes to the fore after it went live on June 23, having presented the likes of Crypto’s map room and Mirage’s Heirloom set, among other newbies.
The “Armed and Dangerous Evolved” mode also returned as part of the event and file discoveries suggest a novel LTM is on the way.
The new mode could touch down sooner than expected and, Shrugtal shared additional details on the Campfire LTM this week, having previously fashioned the initial leak. Fans should have been made aware that the LTM will be dropping along with the return of the Shadowfall playlist.
The popular data miner claimed the campfires would work just like the Cozy Campfires in Fortnite in that it will allow players to restore shields or health when they’re nearby.
“The campfires will be scattered around the map,” he revealed, “there were likely be far less healing items on the floor, similar to how it was in Armed and Dangerous, and you will be forced to use to these campfires to heal and replenish shields.”
Aside of the reveal, shrugtal noted the possibility of the LTM being played in King Kanyon’s After Dark map. The campfires, which bear resemblance to the Respawn Beacons, will serve as a replacement for the Beacons in the game and will offer players AoE healing. Beacons are currently available in all modes.
If on the aforementioned map, players will likely be able to find them pretty easily as they should be marked on the HUD.
As to when the mode will be released is still in question but Shrugtal claims it was supposed to have gone live during the Lost Treasures event. He’s suggested it could drop amid the Summer Sale on July 21.
