Not too long ago, players sifting through the game files of Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play battle royale title Apex Legends were able to discover that a couple of new characters are on the way for release, with the two being dubbed Octane and Wattson. Now, it looks as if a fresh leak has come about that potentially unveils when fans should expect for the former figure to arrive in the battle royale game.

According to an area of Apex Legends’ game files called Post Launch Playlists, a new playlist will be added to the game on Week 8, and it is at this time that what is being called the “Octane Preview” will be added to the title. So, if the term “Week 8” is being used to mean the eighth week since the game’s release, then players should expect this new Legend Character to show up at some point between March 25, 2019 and April 1, 2019.

Of course, there’s always the chance that the “Octane Preview” isn’t necessarily the formal inclusion of the new character. This find could simply be related to a type of in-game news portion that gets added to Apex Legends’ announcement page at some point down the line simply to promote Octane’s inclusion. After all, without an official confirmation from Respawn Entertainment regarding the matter, we can’t know for sure exactly when Octane will arrive.

Previous leaks pertaining to Octane suggest that the Apex Legends character will contain a stimpack in their abilities. This, of course, is an item which would give a health regeneration, and based on previous Titanfall games, should increase reload speed and provide a movement speed boost to a player as well.

All things considered, we will simply have to wait and see just when Respawn decides to bring Octane into the fold. As for now, Apex Legends still have a solid selection of roster members to choose from, and we have put together a guide to determine which character will best fit one’s play style.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
