An Apex Legends player decided to turn his opponents into living fireworks. Yes, you can actually do that in-game.
We have Reddit user BeanBag373_ for sharing this recipe that turns enemy players into fireworks in Apex Legends. First, you need to be playing Octane for his launch pad ability. This is basically the cannon that will launch the firework into the air. Second, you need an Arc Star to plant on your opponent immediately before throwing a launch pad under their feet. If you get the timing right, this will cause them to explode midair.
And third, you need a lot of luck.
The crux of this trick is camping out on a respawn beacon and hoping that your opponent just doesn’t notice you. The hologram that hovers above the respawn beacon doesn’t really obscure the player all that much, but despite this, BeanBag373_ still manages to go unnoticed long enough in order to both stick them with an Arc Star and then toss a launch pad underneath their feet.
There’s no reason for this to work as well as it does, and yet we have this beautiful video to prove that it does indeed work extremely well.
Apparently, people are just so focused on getting their buddy respawned that they don’t think to bother looking on top of the respawn beacon. This results in the surprise of their soon-to-be-shortened lives as they get hit with an Arc Star and are then catapulted into the air where they explode like the aforementioned living firework that they’ve become.
If this were just a funny gag that they pulled a few times mid-match then it’d be easy to pass this off as just Apex Legends shenanigans. But BeanBag373_ actually WON A GAME using this trick. That’s just mind-boggling. Kudos to you, BeanBag373_.
