Season 4 of Apex Legends has been extended by a week and as a result, Season 5 has been delayed.

Respawn Entertainment’s Design Director, Jason McCord, revealed the information in a blog post. He says the Season 4 extension will allow players time to grind a little more.

While Respawn has kept information regarding Season 5 to a minimum, a potential Dev Tracker leak revealed the title could be “Fortune’s Favor,” and it may offer some unique changes. One such alteration could include a fix for loss forgiveness measures to make them less exploitable. The leak also suggests the Ranked Leagues may change, though it did not detail what will be different. They do say Ranked Series Splits will remain the same, as will Scoring, Entry RP Cost, and Assists. Interestingly enough, the original post made by the Dev Tracker was removed, though it appears a backup was made public.

While Season 5 has been delayed, Respawn is making sure there’s enough new content to keep players invested in Apex Legends. Titled “Battle Armor,” this limited-time event takes place on World’s Edge. Lasting 14 days, the event will “evolve” by offering constant changes to armor every few days. The event will build-up to the eventual release of Season 5.

According to McCord, players will drop into a match with a specialty armor that’s only available for a period of time throughout the event, along with a P2020. Although all armor will be removed from the loot pool, shield cells and batteries aren’t going anywhere. The armor types won’t be random either, as McCord outlined the concrete schedule for players.

Starting on Tuesday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, players will use Level 1 (White) armor. This will last until Saturday, May 2 at 10:00 a.m.

Next, Level 2 (Blue) armor will be featured in the LTM until Wednesday, May 6. Continuing in the pattern, players will then use Level 3 (Purple) armor until Saturday, May 9. Wrapping things up — and leading into Season 5 — players will use Evo armor from May 9 until Tuesday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. PTD.

Double XP will also be offered to players who finish top 5 in their games, May 9-12 across all modes.
