Apex Legends was expected to receive its massive Legacy update today at 1pm ET, but it seems the game has run into a bit of server trouble. Many players attempting to log in to the game are unable to do so – likely a result of thousands of fans eager to check out the highly-anticipated season at the same time.
Season 9: Legacy will bring sweeping map updates, a new set of balance adjustments, a new Legend, and a new weapon, among many other reworks. Here’s hoping EA gets things fixed as soon as possible, so we can dive into all the new content.
Respawn is aware of the issue and is working to get things back online as soon as possible.
Server hiccups at the start of a new season are nothing new to Apex Legends, which often experiences some downtime due to an influx of players that overwhelms its servers. It looks like things are no different this time around – especially considering Season 9 is one of the most-anticipated in Apex history.
Apex Legends Season 9 patch notes recently went live, giving us a closer look at what we can expect when servers eventually stabilize. The community is clearly excited to check out the new content, and both Respawn and EA are hard at work ironing out all the new-season kinks.
Apex Legends Season 9 arrives today – whenever the servers become available.
