Challenge Points in Apex Legends are not a currency like Apex coins, but probably as valuable considering their worth in the long run. While players cannot spend challenge points on Apex Packs or new skins, the incentive lies in gaining battle pass ranks by earning enough challenge points, which can help players gain some of the cool new rewards in Apex Legends Season Five.

With the arrival of Apex Legends’ Fifth Season, Fortune’s Favor, players can not only test out the new champion Loba, but have a much-welcomed refresh of the challenge system.  Before Fortune’s Favor, Apex Legends players could only complete daily or weekly challenges to gain challenge points to earn free battle pass levels, but Fortune’s Favor adds a new way to make the grind a bit more fun.

What is CP?

Challenge Points are the new name for the XP specific to challenges in Apex Legends, previously called STARS. While this system is not an entirely new feature in Apex Legends, it has been simplified in the recent update. Players can earn CP from their daily or weekly challenges, and the new season quest. These challenges can range from something as straightforward as playing two matches or getting a total of 50 kills throughout your games. Every 9,000 CP gained gives players a battle pass rank, which can nab players some tremendous new rewards this season.

How to Earn CP

Challenges have been split up between several different groups, each with varying degrees of difficulty and rewards. Players can find their four daily challenges on the starting menu and the challenges tab, and reward players with a fair share of challenge points. There are two weekly recurring challenges which are merely completing five daily challenges, and completing ten daily challenges, with each challenge rewarding one battle pass rank.

Where things get interesting are the events and season based weekly challenges. During special events, players will receive unique challenges granting event-based rewards and challenge points. The season based weekly challenges are challenges unlocked each week of the season and contain an additional seven challenges players can complete for additional CP and battle pass ranks. Lastly, with Fortune’s Favor comes the quest The Broken Ghost and the addition of treasure packs. While treasure packs and quest progress are a separate affair, finding treasure packs can award players with challenge points.

With numerous challenges being cycled daily, players should be kept busy grinding for the duration of the season. Each challenge goes a long way in grinding for battle pass ranks so players should take advantage early in the season to get
