Disney’s live-action adaptation of Artemis Fowl was initially supposed to premiere in theaters on May 29, 2020. But due to the coronavirus shutting down theaters, Disney announced that Artemis Fowl would premiere on Disney Plus instead.

When the company made the announcement, it didn’t have a new release date in mind. But now awaiting fans have a time that they can look forward to.

According to the company’s latest update, Artemis Fowl will stream exclusively on Disney Plus starting June 12, 2020.

While having a release date is good news, a June 12 premiere technically means that Disney has delayed Artemis Fowl for a second time now. In the first instance, Disney changed the movie’s premiere date from August 9, 2019, into the previously mentioned May 29.

On the plus side, however, this delay only added two weeks to the date, whereas the last added nearly ten months. And Disney also didn’t mention anything about viewers having to pay a separate cost to view the new release. So fans should be able to watch the movie by themselves, or with friends and family, for the price of a Disney Plus subscription, which essentially means “for free” to anyone that already has one.

Artemis Fowl will break into Disney Plus on June 12, 2020.
