The design of the PS5 isn’t for everyone, but this reimagined Spider-Man: Miles Morales version almost definitely is.

A week has passed since the Future of Gaming PS5 reveal event, and there has been a lot to digest. Not just via the numerous games revealed to be coming to the next-gen console, but also the design of the PS5, and the distinct lack of a price tag. It’s looking more and more likely that gamers won’t know how much the PS5 and Xbox Series X cost until they go to buy one on release day.

Back to that design, and no matter how the PS5 looked, it was always going to split its potential customers. The sleek and futuristic black and white design has been described as looking like an ice cream sandwich by some. Honestly, if that’s the worst people have to say about it, then Sony has done a pretty good job. Calling it an ice cream sandwich might even be a compliment.

Some players have already been asking whether the console will come in a different color, though. White isn’t for everyone, especially when at launch, the last three PlayStations have been black. There’s no official word yet on whether PS5 players will have a choice when it comes to color, but BossLogic has whipped up what it might look like if they do.

The imaginative designer has not only showcased what the PS5 would look like if it were black, but whipped up a design for one created in conjunction with Spider-Man: Miles Morales. For starters, the console definitely looks better in black, and the red hue is the perfect finishing touch. Not to mention the Spider-Man logo emblazoned on the side of the console. Or is that the bottom? Wait, maybe it’s the top…

BossLogic has even extended the design to the new PS5 DualSense controller, switching it from white to black. It also has a red touchpad with another Spider-Man logo. Special edition consoles themed after and bundled with games are commonplace, so it’s possible that a Miles Morales-themed PS5 is an option for gamers before the end of 2020. If so, we hope it looks a lot like this one.
