World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold was caught watching his ex’s livestream the other day, much to the bemusement of his fans. The 30-year-old quickly minimized the stream of Pink Sparkles as he was concluding his WoW stream session.
What could have been a harmless case of casual Twitch viewing turned into an “exposed” fiasco on Asmongold’s chat. The content creator was startled to have been caught with his ex’s stream plastered on his screen for all to see, but appeared to laugh it off in good spirits. He initially decided not to comment on his unfortunate mishap, yet after glancing over at his active chat the streamer began to chuckle his embarrassment away. The clip quickly made its way over to the LivestreamFail subreddit for his followers to speculate over the many reasons why he had tuned in.
A majority of the Reddit users agreed that his reaction to seeing the chat blow up after the unfortunate incident was priceless. A lot of the comments exerted a frat house mentality that pointed out that he got “caught”. A couple of users jumped to his defense by noting that the two streamers were still friends, therefore it would be perfectly normal for him to tune into one of her streams. The thread gradually turned to experiences with friendship after dating as users explained that it’s not an impossibility to stay friendly with an ex-partner.
Zack and Izzy, aka Asmongold and Pink Sparkles, became a popular streaming duo back in 2018 by confirming their relationship during a livestream. Pink Sparkles ended up moving to Austin, Texas to be with Asmongold for a majority of the partnership. Despite being questioned and generally unsupported by the streaming community, the pair continued to broadcast their closeness during their Twitch streams for the next year and a half.
In December 2019, Pink Sparkles unexpectedly disclosed–in a flurry of tweets–that she was suffering from depression and was unhappy living in Austin. She then announced that they had parted ways due to both parties dealing with personal issues and that she would be moving back to California. Fans expressed their sympathy for the streamers despite their past dubiety, supporting Asmongold as he spoke out about the breakup in one of his personal streams.
Even though Pink Sparkles admitted that her relationship with Asmongold may not be definitively over, she still emphasized the need for physical separation. This could shed some light on why the WoW player indulged in a private viewing of his ex’s stream, although it could also just be a friend showing some support.
