Assassin’s Creed: Origins will be available to play for free on Uplay this weekend. This free weekend will be available live starting June 19 until Sunday, June 21.
Currently the preload is available since the game download is larger than other titles. All progress made in this trail weekend will of course carry over if players choose to purchase the full title.
Origins is also on sale for eighty percent off, $12.00 on Uplay. As well as being included in Uplay Plus.
Origins follows Bayek, a Medjay in 49 BC Egypt and explores the origins of the centuries long conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and Knights Templars. The game features many real-world events and people. Such as Cleopatra and her fall, as well as the great pyramids.
Originally released in 2017, Origins still holds up with the sheer amount of content that is offered. Even considered one of the best open world games of that year. Receiving fairly positive reviews on all platforms even though this is the first time Ubisoft shifted the series in combat. When first released Origins introduced a more RPG system of combat, crafting, and exploration that was never before seen in the series.
Many fans remained skeptical on this change, but many saw the depth of the title. The deep detail in all the environments. Every interaction can be felt, and the combat carries weight with different weapons. The detailing that went into this title surpasses almost all other titles in the series, and even most open world games.
