About a month ago, leaks from Italian retailers eventually gave way to rumors regarding the last-generation game Assassin’s Creed Rogue receiving an HD remaster with the potential for release sometime in early 2018. Now, the publisher and developer Ubisoft has officially confirmed the speculation by putting out a brand new trailer for the game that shows off heightened graphics and more refined visuals.
As seen in the trailer below for Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered, players will once again step into the boots of Shay Patrick Cormac for an adventure through pre-Revolution America and the North Atlantic, but on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this time around. What completely sets the title apart from its original versions on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, though, is Ubisoft’s delivery of new 4K visuals, “higher-resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects.”
What’s more is that Assassin’s Creed Rogue is also going to contain all of the original’s downloadable content and expansions, including the two bonus missions The Armor of Sir Gunn, and The Siege of Fort de Sable. Not to mention, ACR Remastered each and every weapon, outfit, and customization item in the Master Templar and Explorer packs, in addition the hero Bayek’s legacy outfit from the franchise’s most recently released installment, Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Taking all of this into consideration, in an era that’s rife with remasters, remakes, and reboots, it’s difficult to discern if Assassin’s Creed fans will be particularly excited about the updated version of Rogue, especially since most are likely still exploring all that Origins has to offer. Nevertheless, Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered is on the way with a release date that’s set for just a couple of months from now.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered is set to launch on March 20, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
