You can choose whether or not to play as male or female Eivor (and maybe even both) throughout Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, male Eivor’s front tattoos look the best as they don’t have a bandeau cutting through half of the inked image. This might sway your decision one way or another as there are so many amazing chest tattoos to choose from.
Some tattoos are given from the start, while others can be found, bought, and earned throughout the game. Keep reading to learn the ranking of Eivor’s chest tattoos in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla!
10 Sigrdrifumal
If you connect your Valhalla account to Ubisoft then you will have access to the free Sigrdrifumal tattoo, and it isn’t great, but it’s not the worst. It features a series of script along Eivor’s abdomen and a few symbols on his chest. This connects you to the Viking era on a deeper level as it puts a piece of their culture on Eivor’s body.
9 Skraelingi Emblem
The Skraelingi Emblem tattoo is fairly simple, but it’s the coloring of it that bumped it above the Sigrdrifumal tattoo. This is one tattoo that looks great on the female version of Eivor as well, due to the way it extends the length of their torso. Other patterns are obviously more intricate, which is something any pro player would know, but it’s still a top choice for many.
8 Hel Sign
Hel Sign is one of the tattoos that you are given at the beginning of the game and it is quite grim. However, this is what players love about it as it outlines Eivor’s ribs and reminds them of the realm of Helheim, otherwise known as the realm of the dead. It shows Eivor’s enemies where they are headed when they encounter him in the game, as he sends them into the darkness with the edge of his ax throughout the story.
7 Gungnir Strike
If you have an affinity for Ravens, as you grow more attached to the Raven Clan throughout the game, then this is the tattoo for your Eivor. It features a spear tip in the center and two ravens flanking either side.
However, it was ranked lower on the list due to its lack of creativity. There are no intricate patterns and it doesn’t cover his entire chest, but it is still more artistically driven than the previous tattoos in this ranking.
6 Mjolnir Sign
The Mjolnir Sign tattoo is a bit more inspired, but there was so much more they could have done with it. The heart at the center of his chest chows his affinity for love of war and peace. The random arches framing it could have been designed in a better fashion, but overall it is not a bad design. It doesn’t work very well with the female version of Eivor, even if it does look great while he is destroying various Norse mythological creatures.
5 Hjarta
The design of this tattoo is artistically driven and shows why they are one of the best things to come out of this Assassin’s Creed. It is great how it covers both his chest and abdomen, although the design is a bit strange and lacks a warrior’s inspiration. It resembles an angel, which connects it back to the Anglo-Saxon’s Christianity in the game even if it isn’t something a Viking would probably want to be tatted on their body.
4 Dupuytren Emblem
Players strive to beat the game just to uncover this particular tattoo. It is truly savage as the handprints of memories of those who have fallen at Eivor’s feet begging for mercy.
This may be one of the simpler designs, but it did rank higher as it looks great on both the male and female versions of Eivor. The lines at his hips help outline his muscles and add to the completeness of this tattoo’s design.
3 Auki Sign
This is one of the more intricate designs and it can take a bit of exploring the different locations before this design is found. It is unique from the other designs because it looks to be two tattoos in one. You have the array of curled lines on the right half of his body, and a large circular tattoo on the bottom left half of his torso. Players adore it for this reason and hope to see more tattoos like it in the future.
2 Mimir
This tattoo uses a blend of silver and brown to create its design, and it works to highlight Eivor’s chest. It is something you probably wished you had known about prior to starting the game in order to find it from the start. The silver seems to shimmer on his skin and is sure to reflect the fear of his enemies as he cuts them down one by one.
1 Vestri Wind
The Vestri Wind tattoo is at the top of this list as it spans his entire chest, invokes an air of mystery, and is the most artistic chest tattoo to date. It utilizes a series of straight lines for its pattern, while the partial circle in the middle of his chest gives a bit of variation. This design looks great on the female version of Eivor as well due to its many parts, which is why it is the best chest tattoo Eivor can use.
