Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a little less than a month away, and Ubisoft has released a new breakdown covering its PC specifications and other features.
To kick things off, Gabe from Ubisoft’s NGON community talked about hardware performance. Valhalla is the first Assassin’s Creed game to use DX12, which allowed the team to “improve the performance and stability of the game… [and give] more control over memory usage and CPU parallelism.” The results have led to lighter CPU loads and should allow a greater range of hardware to run the game at a high visual level.
Valhalla is built using Ubisoft’s Anvil game engine, with emphasis on improved scalability and maximizing hardware capabilities. For example, there is no fps cap (there is limit slider, for those interested). The game will feature multi-monitor and widescreen support. Valhalla will also feature resolution modifiers, which can “emulate a 4K monitor on a 1080p screen,” for instance.
There will be a vast array of customization options regarding mouse/keyboard and controller schemes – including a “hybrid input” scheme that allows for the use of both options simultaneously.
Regarding partnerships, the dev team behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has worked with AMD to “further optimize and improve the PC experience,” MSI to integrate their Mystic Light features, and Tobii for their “eye tracking goodness.” As for the specifications, they’ve provided a chart for reference.
To run the game on minimum settings:
- Average Performance - 1080p/30 fps Graphics - low preset GPU - AMD R9 380 - 4GB / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 - 4GB CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 1200 - 3.1GHz / Intel i5-4460 - 3.2GHz RAM - 8GB dual-channel mode OS - Windows 10 (64 bit only) Storage - 50 GB HDD (SSD recommended)
To maximize the game:
- Average Performance - 4K 2160p / 30 fps Graphics - ultra high preset GPU - AMD RX 5700XT - 8GB / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - 8GB CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - 3.6 GHz / Intel i7-9700K - 3.6 GHz RAM - 16GB dual-channel mode OS - Windows 10 (64 bit only) Storage - 50 GB SSD
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set for a November 10 release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, Xbox Series X and Series S.
