Optional romances are a somewhat recent addition to the Assassin’s Creed series. And Valhalla includes several potential lovers that either a male or female Eivor can pursue. One of the more substantial and rewarding relationships is between Eivor and Petra.
The woman is a huntress that resides within Ravensthorpe and catches the protagonist’s eye. As Petra doesn’t appear in the main questline, her romance is more hidden than several others. You have to seek the woman out and do a few quests with her to start things up. Here is everything you need to know to engage in the romance.
Build A Hunter’s Hut
Obviously, you can’t romance Petra if you never actually meet her, and to do that, you need to build a Hunter’s Hut in your settlement. You can only make the hut once Ravensthorpe is at level two, but that’s easily achieved by building things or completing an arc that rewards a level up.
Once the Hunter’s Hut becomes available to build, you can find the designated place to construct it using your Raven. The creation of the hut will set you back 600 building materials and 45 raw materials, but can you really put a price on love?
The Huntress Quest
After the Hunter’s Hut is up and running, you’ll talk to Petra and her brother Wallace. Once her sibling has left, Petra will go on about trophy hunting for a bit before asking for a favor. When you say “I’m listening,” she’ll talk about some nearby wolves that are causing problems and need to be eradicated. Agree to join her in finding and killing the bloodthirsty canines.
The conversation prompts the beginning of ‘The Huntress’ quest. Out of all of the side quests in the game, this is among the simplest. All you have to do is follow Petra until you meet a farmer who’s being chased by wolves, kill the animals, and talk to the guy you rescued.
Finding Wallace Together
You’ll need to wait a bit after the end of ‘The Huntress’ quest to start the next portion of your love story. But at one point, you’ll be able to return to Petra (as always, she’ll be at the Hunter’s Hut or just outside of it), and she’ll ask for your help. She reveals that Wallace has disappeared, and she’s worried. Agree to lend the huntress a hand to begin the ‘Have You Seen This Man?’ quest.
The quest is a pretty long one as you and Petra attempt to track down her brother. However, the objectives are pretty self-explanatory as most of it consists of following Petra around and fighting creatures, so it shouldn’t be a problem to complete. Eventually, you find out that Wallace was in no trouble at all.
First Date
Once you’ve done the two quests with Petra, the next time you return to the settlement, you’ll be able to move the relationship forward. Simply interact with her, and say “Shall we spend some time together?” and Petra will suggest some archery practice.
The supposed shooting practice is actually a competition between the two of you, where you get to set the win conditions. It doesn’t matter if you select first to 10, 15, or 20, nor does it change anything whether you win or lose. Therefore, don’t concern yourself with having the best bow imaginable for the date. After the contest, both of you return to Ravensthorpe.
Confirming The Romance
Let a bit of time pass after the date, and then talk with Petra again. The Huntress will open up and express her desire to be with you. Of course, you must respond with the “I feel the same way” dialogue option. The new couple will then kiss and go to bed together, completing the romance.
Once the relationship is confirmed, you’re able to interact with her regularly to do the following:
- Kiss her Take her to bed Break up Compete in archery again, have a drinking contest, or play orlog (“Shall we spend some time together” dialogue option)
