You might remember Apex Legends’ newest hero, Forge, getting leaked back in January before the character was scrapped altogether and replaced by a different character named Revenant. As it turns out, Forge’s failed launch was a part of the plan all along, as the character’s sole purpose was to misdirect dataminers and preserve the identity of the real upcoming hero. In a recent interview, Respawn Entertainment’s design director, Jason McCord, revealed that the team purposely leaked Forge’s concept art and gameplay details in order to convince Apex leakers that they had stumbled upon some significant news....

The latest special limited-time mode for Apex Legends, Ring Fury, has switched its rules again to Level 3, mostly combining Levels 1 and 2 with a few slight changes. The mode introduces ring flares – miniature rings that expand and collapse throughout a Ring Fury match – thanks to Fuse’s former friend, Mad Maggie. Since Ring Fury is an “escalating takeover," the mode’s rules will change every few days of the Chaos Theory collection event....

Ash Ketchum now has a full team in the Pokemon anime, as he caught a Dracovish, which is currently one of the most powerful competitive Pokemon in the series. The Pokemon Journeys anime has involved Ash assembling a dream team of Pokemon, as he’s currently taking part in a world tournament against the best trainers in the series. He started his globe-trotting journey with Pikachu (which has a Gigantamax form), and he has since caught a Dragonite, a Gengar, a Riolu (which evolved into Lucario), and a Galarian Farfetch’d....

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has returned to the top of the UK sales chart, while Cyberpunk 2077 has already dropped to third place. Cyberpunk 2077 debuted at #1 in the UK sales chart, as it was one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2020. This was before the word got out about the game’s condition on various platforms. When Fusajiro Yamauchi started the company it had humble beginnings. It wasn’t called Nintendo back then and it was known best for its various types of playing cards. If Yamauchi were alive today, I am sure he would stare in wonderment at what his company has become. It was his grandson Hiroshi who invented the company’s new name of Nintendo and it was through his visit to the United States in 1956 that allowed him to begin to see a greater future for the company....

The official Halo Twitter account releases a new teaser trailer that suggests even more DLC is on its way for Halo 5: Guardians, over a year after the game launched. Yesterday marked the 15th anniversary of the Halo series, and 343 Industries celebrated by releasing a special video that teased the franchise’s future. Not only was 343 teasing Halo 6 with the video, but it seems as though the studio was also pointing to future DLC for Halo 5: Guardians, which is over a year old and still receiving regular content updates....

Nintendo is no stranger to celebrating anniversaries, and with the release of Super Mario 3D All Stars, which has combined three classic games not yet on the Nintendo Switch, they’ve given the mascot the biggest celebration yet, and it now has fans arguing about which franchise should get the same treatment. Microsoft shook up the gaming world recently when they purchased Bethesda for seven and a half billion dollars. To put this price in perspective, that’s almost twice as much as Disney paid for Star Wars in 2012. With the two companies now joining forces, many fans are fantasizing about which Bethesda developers could potentially tackle existing Microsoft IPs and which Microsoft studios could take on a Bethesda property. None of the wishes featured on the list are even rumored to be in the works, but gamers’ dreams have become reality before simply through the power of wishing for it on the Internet long enough....

Activision has announced that they’ve begun the process to acquire Candy Crush developer King for $5.9 billion, pending approval from the Irish government. Activision Blizzard’s expansion into the mobile market has been limited to ports of popular titles such as Hearthstone and companion applications for franchise titles like Call of Duty and Destiny. It appears that they’ve decided to more aggressively expand in the area, however. Activision Blizzard has just announced that they are in the process of acquiring Candy Crush Saga developer King for a sum of $5....

Saints Row developer Volition is currently hard at work on its next game, Agents of Mayhem, but it appears that Switch owners will miss out on the studio’s upcoming single-player open-world shooter. In response to a tweet asking whether Agents of Mayhem will receive a Nintendo Switch port, Volition stated that there are no plans for release on the console/handheld hybrid before reconfirming that the game will only be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC....
