A Kansas City esports center was the site of a shooting over the weekend, the Kansas City Police Department confirms. The shooting left three people injured, with one of the victims in critical condition. Local Legends Gaming, an esports center in Midtown Kansas City, was hosting an event for college students on Saturday, May 25, when it became the site of a shooting. The event, which was an end-of-year party for the college students, had been going on for about an hour and a half when a fight broke out and shots were fired....

Milan-based Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, has acquired Puzzle Quest developer Infinity Plus Two. Founded by Australian developer Steve Fawkner, Infinity Plus Two has developed more than 30 titles, including the free-to-play Gems of War, Warlords IV: Heroes of Etheria and Warlords Battlecry III. The Puzzle Quest series, which began with Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords in 2007, has generated over $200 million in revenue and currently has more than 32 million users worldwide....

According to sources at Bloomberg, developers who are working on Nintendo Switch titles are being asked to make their games 4K-ready. When Netflix canceled Tuca & Bertie, the new cartoon from the designer behind BoJack Horseman, fans were understandably distraught. Tuca & Bertie received a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and several major accolades, but Netflix still deigned not to support a second season. Google just released its annual list of global trending searches, where it was revealed that 2020’s top searches include the late actor Chadwick Boseman, Netflix’s Tiger King, and the video game Among Us. It is worth noting, though, that the list is based on the biggest year-over-year searches, so these are not necessarily the most-searched terms of 2020. Given the coronavirus pandemic’s onslaught, video games saw a big increase this year, especially since most countries imposed a stay-at-home order earlier the year....
