With Apex Legends’ first battle pass, hype surrounding Respawn Entertainment’s new battle royale shooter is once again reaching a fever pitch. In a recent community update, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment revealed a number of fixes coming to the game. This Apex Legends patch will fix the Fortified perk bug, some issues with hit registration, some issues with audio, and the reported PS4 crashing associated with a Lifeline banner. In this post, community manager Jay Frechette also revealed that the team will be banning players for a technique called Piggybacking. Just in time for Halloween, Headup Games, a German video game publisher, has announced the release of Pumpkin Jack, a 3D platformer from developer Nicolas Meyssonnier, for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 23. Headup, best known for the Bridge Constructor series of games developed by ClockStone, has left behind physics-based simulation to dive right into an epic adventure of good vs. evil. Players will take on the role of Jack, aka the Mythical Pumpkin Lord, who has been beckoned by the Devil to battle an army of beasts sent forth by a mighty wizard summoned by the inhabitants of the cheekily named Boredom Kingdom to defend their land....

The 1990s saw more than its fare share of console releases, many of which were colossal failures like the Philips CD-i, Atari Jaguar, and the 3DO. However, one company managed to knock it out of the park with their debut effort. The company in question was Sony, and their classic home entertainment system was the PlayStation. Between the currently-filming Uncharted film with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the just-announced Mario movie, and the anticipated sequel to 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog, it seems as though videogame adaptations are truly hitting their stride. However, a defining feature of this trend is that, seemingly, all the films announced are from triple-A, big-name franchises....

505 Games has removed the option to purchase Control’s two expansion as well as the Season Pass from Control: Ultimate Edition’s Steam page. First spotted by a Resetera user, you can see on Steam Database that the storefronts for both “Control - The Foundation” and “Control - AWE” have been retired from Steam as per the request of the publisher. This means users can no longer purchase the DLC separately, meaning Control: Ultimate Edition is now the only way to buy it on Steam....

There is no such thing as a “perfect” length that all games should strive for. There are games that last 40 hours and feel too short, and there are titles that overstay their welcome despite barely cracking the five-hour mark. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the pacing of the story and whether a game’s mechanics justify the length of its campaign. The action genre is primarily known for its fast-paced gameplay and immediate thrills, with most genre representatives typically lasting around 8-15 hours....

Even though it was expected that players would be able to use Urbosa in Age of Calamity, it was still satisfying to see that the ruler of the Gerudo who can fling lightning like it’s going out of style was a playable option. With fast swipes of her sword and a click of her fingers, Urbosa is able to fry Ganon’s minions with ease as she dashes around the battlefield....

Texas is arguably the biggest trucking state in the US, therefore, it makes sense that American Truck Simulator would cater to the state of 30 million. The game, developed and published by the Czech company SCS Software, was released on February 2, 2016 for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS, but has oddly failed to include the Lone Star State until now. So far, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, and Colorado have been added to the sim, with Wyoming coming this year....
